Worst sushi I've ever had (and sushi is my favorite food, so I'm thoroughly disappointed)! The rice in the vegetable roll was dried out, and the flavors in it did not go well together. The vegetable roll had bellpepper and was wrapped in seaweed; no sushi restaurant anywhere else make rolls like that because it's disgusting. Also, the vegetable roll didn't automatically come with wasabi or ginger--I had to special order wasabi for freaking sushi. Also keep in mind the vegetarian options are minimal.
The yakisoba was even more terrible than the roll. It tasted like grill, was way too greasy, and was soaked in a terrible sauce that was definitely not Japanese. The vegetables in it were burnt and had no flavor. The tofu that came with it was decent but didn't have any sauce or flavoring. The noodles were way thinner than usual.
The salmon tasted rotten.
Even though I'm nauseous and have a stomach ache after suffering through dinner here, at least the service was all right. The waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and refunded us for the rotten fish. He also did a good job keeping up with our drinks and was polite. Also, we didn't have to wait too long...
Read moreAs much as I want to love this place, it's difficult. The sushi is amazing but the service really suffers. The staff is painfully slow in every regard, from seating you (in a near empty resteraunt) to checking your drinks, and meal preparation.
Doing take out here is a disaster. Had my phone call answered, and I was asked to hold. Not a problem at all. She sets the phone on the counter. Five minutes go by. Ten minutes go by. Fifteen minutes go by. Oh boy. Maybe she forgot I was there? I hang up and call again, only to be met with the sound of a disconnected line, because the phone is sitting on the counter. Oops.
Finally she put back the phone and my call goes through. I place my order, and my order is now going to take 30 minutes for two rolls. Yikes.
Total time for take out: Over an hour.
This is exactly what people do NOT want to deal with when trying for take out. I have had a poor experience doing take out each time I have done it here.
Again: Great food, moderately priced, service really needs some work. I can see the aspirations of this place and it could really do much better. But not until the...
Read moreI’m really disappointed that I have to leave this review. Nori is usually one of our favorite places to eat, but yesterday was an awful experience. My husband ordered 2 rolls, and I got a favorite of mine: shrimp and scallops. Normally this dish is served over fresh noodles with well cooked shrimp, scallops, and spinach. Last night I was served a dish that had a glob of what looked like instant ramen, one piece of spinach and a ton of romaine salad lettuce, 3 old bad tasting shrimp, and one scallop. The romaine lettuce mixed in with the sauce and noodles and left a less than appetizing noodle dish. The shrimp tasted and looked like it was a few days old that had been refrigerated then microwaved. It had a bad taste that made me question the safety of the dish. My server was fantastic and tried to rectify the problem by offering to get me something else, but I didn’t trust the quality of the food at that point. I ate only a few bites before asking to return the food. I got sick off of what little I ate and threw up most of the night. My husband had diarrhea after his 2 rolls of sushi. It was so...
