Great atmosphere! Great fans! Great team!!! My only complaints are related to the steps going up into the upper deck, Clone Cone, and hockey siren/music. The steps, walkway, and space in between seats are extremely narrow and not safe for people not having great mobility. This building is obviously dated and would not pass codes in the 21st century. The Clone Cone may have been my biggest disappointment since learning Santa wasn't real. I imagined it would be flavored, rather than dyed, bland vanilla. I can't believe I waited in line nearly 20 min and paid $8+ for vanilla soft serve. I was in Hawaii in December and had Dole Whip, which is pineapple ice cream and absolutely delicious. Maybe take the Clone Cone into the 21st century with 1/2 Dole Whip and the other 1/2, strawberry, cherry, raspberry, or something of that nature. The hockey siren and music may have been cool in the 80's, but it may be time to bring some younger people into the fold when it comes to...
Read moreAs an Iowa Hawkeye fan I'm not allowed to give a score higher than 3 STARS but overall I like Hilton. It is definitely an older building but that is part of why it's such a great environment. As a fan trying to watch a game though it's pretty difficult. Anything past the 15 row tends to get pretty rough. The stairs & seats are STACKED on top of each other & if you're up high you feel like you're going to fall down the stairs. NOT ADA-FRIENDLY at all. Tough to see the action at times. Another thing that I didn't like was the fact that you can't see anything when you go to the concession areas. You're completely separated from the action so you have no idea what's going on & it makes the whole process a...
Read moreI bet the noise can get intense when it's fully packed and the game is exciting. Bowl shaped stadiums are by far my favorite, for views and overall atmosphere. The students working the concession stands definitely make the experience even better. The upper levels of the stadium and its stairs can be a bit treacherous for some, so glad they have railings. I heard that there used to be no railings, wow that had to be a bit intimidating for some fans. The students at the basketball games, make the atmosphere electric and while the overhead signage is smaller when compared to other stadiums, it does not impact the experience in a negative way. Definitely had fun and can't wait to get back there for...
