Tasty campus stop with real, made-on-site ice cream and fun Cyclone-themed flavors. Texture was creamy and the dairy flavor is spot-on. That said, my cone was put together poorly—the scoop sat loose and started to wobble/drip—and the portion felt on the small side for the price. Feels like a simple training issue with the server that day rather than a product problem. Tips: it’s inside the Food Sciences Building on campus; hours are limited (mostly midday), and parking on campus can be tricky—walk, bike, or use pay-to-park. If you’re on the go, ask for a cup or have them firm up the cone. With more consistent portioning and cone prep, this would be an easy 5★.

one of the finest lavender ice creams I’ve ever eaten, especially with its delightful globs of honey interspersed in between. What a wonderful treat, to consume ice cream made by Food Sciences students. A+

really delicious flavors, you can tell that the ice cream is fresh. also very awesome knowing that this was all made and run by students, really adds to the experience

Meh. My son and I went because so many people recommended it on the Iowa State parents page on Facebook. They had a very small number of choices, I think 3 of the 6 had some kind of coffee flavor to them, the other 3 were some sort of sorbet, a chocolate peanut butter and the plain chocolate that I got. It had no depth to the flavor and had a weird manufactured feel to it. My son's was similar. Unimpressive. I've really gotten into ice cream this summer so I was so excited to try this out and was sadly disappointed. Everyone has different tastes, obviously, but this just didn't make me...

The ISU creamery has the best dark chocolate ice cream (1958) that I have ever eaten. I highly recommend it! In fact I actually dreamt about it this week because I was so stressed that it might all melt with our recent power plant fire and HVAC issues. Funny but...
