Escape Room Era — Attraction in Anaheim

My friends and I had an amazing time at The Overgrown thanks to the fantastic hosting by David. From the moment we arrived, David's enthusiasm and professionalism set the tone for an unforgettable experience. He guided us through the rules with clarity and humor, ensuring everyone felt excited and ready to tackle the challenges ahead.

Inside the escape room itself, David's hints were perfectly timed—never giving too much away but nudging us in the right direction just when we needed it most. His passion for puzzles and storytelling shone through as he immersed us in the themed environment, making every clue and twist feel like part of a thrilling adventure.

David's attention to detail was impeccable, ensuring that every aspect of the game was finely tuned for maximum enjoyment. This review is for 5/20/2025 at 6pm and Overgrown Zombie right after at 7 ish - PLEASE give the tip to those 2 guys who had shifts during that time as we may have gotten their names wrong. I could’ve sworn our host said Connor/Gage but the other guy looks like Michael on the board.

We came by to do Principle’s office. Connor and/or Gage? Sorry was our host and was AWESOME. Very friendly, informative and was a cool sport with our jokes. Later on, another employee was part of our game and did an amazing job. He definitely went off script one part which made the experience amazing. It’s awesome we got to use our phones for the room that helped bring a memory back with us (not going to say much without spoilers). The room was so fun we opted to do their Zombie room on the whim (20% same day discount or maybe just given to us cuz they liked us, jk). The other employee came in to chat with us while being in character of an odd character while they were getting our room set up. It gave us all such a good laugh and really transitioned well into our room which I assume isn’t part of the experience for everyone so it felt very unique. This escape room was AMAZING! We did both the Christmas with Benjamin and The Hide rooms, both of which were super fun.

The Christmas with Benjamin room was very family friendly with innovative puzzles. The decorations were fantastic and very festive, and our host Jeremy was great too. They had lots of jokes and the room was well paced and very well timed. We finished with exactly 1 minute and 47 seconds to spare.

The Hide was the highlight of the experience. They have done a very good job of creating an ominous atmosphere, with very scary audio and lots of interactivity. The room plays a lot around light (and lack of it), often forcing players to look/reach into the unknown. Sam and Abrar were our gamemakers for this experience and they were very scary :D. Unlike many other escape rooms, Escape room Era’s completion doesn’t rely on getting a key to escape the room so if you ever need the bathroom or are too scared you can step out at any time. 10/10, would...
