Apex community park has three playgrounds and although each is only medium sized, together they make for a really nice park experience. Off the Laura Duncan Road entrance is a small play structure in a clearing. It has a nice slide but no swings and no good climbing options for smaller children. However, the playground is close to bathrooms and a short trail that leads to a creek, great for rock throwing.
The second and third playgrounds are in the back of the park near the sand volleyball and tennis courts. The traditional playground has swings and slides and a few options for smaller children. The third playground is set up as an obstacle course and it's on turf. Although most of the challenges are aimed at older climbers younger kids really enjoy running on the turf.

Read moreThis is an incredible park that is extremely large. there are multiple baseball fields, basketball courts and tennis courts. There is a playground for kids and a ninja warrior training course that is designed for teens and adults that are over 14 years of age. But you will often find plenty of kids down there too. It's a great place to take your kid and exercise as well. there is also an amazing paved loop around the entire pond that is around 2 miles long. There is also a hiking trail that branches off of the paved loop and includes some exercise calisthenic equipment...

Once the obstacle course area got too crowded with unmasked patrons, we walked over to the other playground and both our young toddler and 5-year-old could play on all of the equipment. A gated fence encloses the whole area to keep kiddos from darting out into the parking lot. It would have been nice to have a little bit more seating for parents, but otherwise this is an excellent destination with fun and clean equipment to...
