It's a nice little pier on the boat channel but the lights don't work. No lights mean no night fishing and a pier this small in this location is all about night fishing. The park has other attractions and amenities such as the nice paved double boat ramps, the bait stands, the large restroom facilities, covered picnic tables and several park benches not to mention hundreds of feet of concrete bulk heads that you can fish from. I just wouldn't bother going there at night, at least not until they get the lights fixed which I was told would be late October.
EDIT: The lights have since been repaired at Conn Brown pier. They are very bright and do a good job of attracting fish. So far it seems to attract a lot of small sand trout and Pinfish. The good news is that the sand trout aren't very picky and will bite just about any bait you throw. You can probably fill an ice chest with sand trout pretty quickly if you wanted to. I can't wait to try it out in the spring time when perhaps some speckled trout might be around. Good...
Read moreNestled on a serene peninsula in Aransas Pass, Texas, lies a beautiful park offering sweeping views of the water and a profound sense of peace. At its heart stands the Seaman’s Memorial Tower, a poignant tribute to local sailors who were lost or gave their lives at sea. The memorial also honors six U.S. Coast Guard airmen who perished in a tragic accident when a flare was accidentally discharged inside their aircraft. Their sacrifice is commemorated with a solemn plaque mounted on the memorial’s walls.
Adding to the sacred ambiance, a hand-hewn crucifix, crafted from weathered driftwood, hangs above the entrance of the shrine. Inside, soft light filters through a stained glass window set in the back wall, casting gentle colors across the space and inviting quiet reflection. This park is not only a place of natural beauty but also one of remembrance, reverence,...
Read moreNice place to fish, The pier is kind of set back from the channel (But you never hear of any barges hitting the CONN BROWN PIER). The fish cleaning station is in the far corner of the parking lot, it's well lit and has outlets to plug in an electric fillet knife or if you have a 12v knife you can nose your vehicle right up to the tables to hook up your 12v knife. There is a nice looking boat ramp too, I've never launched a boat there but it's pretty busy on the weekends with a...
