Very disappointed in the managers customer service. My family and I stay at MANY hotels throughout the year and have been for sometime now. I have never had an issue where a hotel booked us for the wrong date until the Hampton Inn and Suites in Arcata, Ca recently did. I had booked over the phone and somehow the Hampton booked the wrong date. When I arrived on the date that was suppose to have been booked I was told they did not have a room in my name and that I was charged a night the week prior for a no-show. I was referred to talk with the hotel manager Dalila Morales regarding the mix up. I contacted Dalila and kindly explained the situation. Dalila did locate my reservation but proceeded to tell me that the employee who booked my reservation was trained by her and does not make mistakes since she was taught to read back the booking information. Dalila went on to say the hotel was been booked full for the date the Hampton had me booked for, therefor she is not able to refund the nights charge. Dalila also referred me to dispute the charge with my credit card company but at the same time saying that she would be able to have her say to my credit card company of which she will dispute as well. I let Dalila know it was very sad to hear she was not even willing to work with me, not offering a free night stay or even a discount on a future room of which I would have been happy with anything as long as she had tried to work with me instead of telling me in no way is it their mistake. Out of the many hotels we stay at, Hampton Inn is usually always accommidating and nice to stay. In fact, we have friends of which are owners of a Hampton Inn. Although Hampton Inn and Suites in Arcata seems like one of the nicer hotels in Arcata, there are others in the area of which are just as nice. Also there are Hotels within 7-10 miles north and south of Arcata. Sad to know that my family will be visiting Arcata often over the next 4-5 years and will no longer consider Hampton Inn and Suites in Arcata an option for our many future stays...
