Austin Pass Picnic Area — Attraction in Area E (Chilliwack River Valley)

Great spot for picnic and stargazing! We came to see the Persoid Meteor shower and most people were either at Artist Point or Picture Lake (Picture Lake was standing room only with photographers setting up hours in advance on the wooden docks). So instead we headed to this picnic area. Although there isn’t a view of Mt. Shuksan or Mt. Baker, you can still see the stars really clearly from here, and if you can get a picnic table, it makes for a really good spot to lie down and watch the skies. There’s a little bit of light pollution from cars going up and down the road but you can mostly block it out by looking in the opposite direction.
