Lake Ann trail is absolutely stunning! If you are extraordinarily out of shape, like myself, be warned: it is 900 feet down to the meadow 800 feet up to lake Ann and then you get to do that in reverse over a very short distance. I tell you, I literally thought I was going to die.
On the plus side, we got to see Pikas which was on my bucket list. You can hear their chirp almost the whole hike! The wild flowers this time of year and incredible as well.
Lots of stream crossings so be warned your feet will be wet. It's really refreshing though. Very broken terrain the whole way including tree roots, large unstable rocks, etc. It's honestly a lovely, very well maintained trail.
We didn't make it all the way to lake Ann which was a bummer. Just as we were beginning to ascend to the lake, the sun was setting and we ended up calling and hiking back in the dark. Poor planning on our parts but still...

Lake Ann itself is a beautiful lake, the trail starts going downhill in covered forest, then after a few stream crossing it flattens out, once you start heading up to the lake the views of Mt Baker and the landscapes really show the beauty of this hike. I highly recommend it, carry sunscreen...
