Wow I loved the views when I finally got to the top.
I think I somehow took a roundabout way that wasn't straight up Bell Rock...I felt I went around the mountain a view times...only to hike out in a straight line after. I felt a little disoriented.
Also, there were certain points before reaching the top where I questioned if I was even on the correct path. That happens a lot on this trail, which is somewhat great because nature isn't over-run with ugly human signs. However, I felt I was going to fall from far distances at certain points.
Oddly enough a lot of other adults were skeptical of some of the pathways up. And then us adults would watch a bunch of kids climb up and down these 70 degree angled boulders like it's nothing.
If you're questioning going up the entire way, listen to your gut or make sure you are with others to help you get up and down.
There's also great cell service on the mountain which I don't usually experience while hiking.
And when you're looking up at the top of the mountain, if you're wondering how far you can go up, it's about the same level as the highest tree.
Also DONT BRING A PURSE if you're hiking to the very top, it's hard to climb the upmost areas with something hanging off your side. A backpack would be better and I don't think you can do a lot of this hike in flip flops or open-toed shoes. This hike challenged my timberland boots in...
Read moreMarch 18th, parked at 7am, CourthouseTrailhead, lots available parking. Layered warmth walking towards Bell Rock. Not many folk, maybe 1 or 2. Walked to the back area of Bell Rock, followed a path where the water may have flowed. The climb up was easy. The views are wonderful. I did several Omm and felt into my peace, focusing on a bright light ✨️ 🙏 only birds and me.
I scooted down some rocks to return to the path. Bell Rock pathway wraps around to the other parking lot. I turned back and found another trail that cuts to Courthouse Butte.
Bell Rock showed herself in her different views, all splendid. The sun occasionally peeked from clouds, and there were a few puddles left over from the previous short snow day.
Everyone's friendly, more folk towards the end of my adventure. There is an easy climb up Bell Rock from the parking at Courthouse Trailhead.
Make sure you have your $5/day pass on your review mirror. Toilets available. Water and snacks are your friends. The trail is flat and easy until... it's not. A great time for all ages. If you arrive later be prepared to... wait for...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of hiking the Bell Rock Trailhead in Sedona, and it was an unforgettable experience. The trail is easy to access, and the scenery is nothing short of spectacular. Bell Rock itself is a massive, bell-shaped formation that dominates the landscape, and the trail offers several different paths depending on how adventurous you’re feeling.
What I loved most was how peaceful the hike felt. The red rock formations, open desert, and clear skies made for a serene and almost spiritual experience. If you’re looking for a manageable hike with great views, Bell Rock is perfect. It’s not too difficult, so it’s great for beginners or families, but there are also some steeper sections if you want more of a challenge.
One highlight for me was stopping at a few spots to just sit and take in the energy of the place. They say Bell Rock is one of Sedona’s vortex spots, and while I can’t confirm that, I definitely felt a sense of calm and connection with nature.
Whether you’re into hiking, photography, or just want to soak up the natural beauty of Sedona, Bell Rock Trailhead is definitely...
