From the sign in at the front desk to the exam with the doctor, everyone was so very courteous, helpful & professional. I had to fill out the registration for my husband (he was too sick to deal with it)& they make it so easy- I did it online on my phone in 5 minutes. Although there were quite a few people waiting to be seen, the staff definitely have their system down pat- the receptionist kept everything smooth & conducted with a smile & a friendly attitude - & we were called in even before I finished the registration forms! The tech that took his bp/O2 levels/temp was very good- I felt kinda bad that she was wearing basically a hazmat suit- I get it, Covid is no joke & everyone needs to be safe- & it really speaks to the sanitation/ cleanliness levels of the clinic. The doctor was very thorough, understanding & clear. She was also kind- something I tend to see less & less of in the medical business, sadly. But although I didnât have a negative opinion of walk-in clinics beforehand, I feel that this experience made me feel more positive about them than actually going to my primary care at a big, well known hospital. The whole event was easier, more pleasant & QUICKER than any doctor appointment Iâve had otherwise. I highly recommend utilizing their services- itâs comforting to know that if I ever need them, I really wonât mind going to them. I mean, it is a medical appointment after all- I doubt anyone looks forward to them- but at least I wonât be worried & uncomfortable about it in the future.
EDIT: 5/30/22 Hi- so this review will mark my third time visiting AFC Urgent Care in Arlington- the second time was to bring my husband in to treat a nasty sinus infection, and although I didnât post a review that last time, the visit went as I expected- very well. Unfortunately this time it was I who had to be treated. My knee gave out on me as I was going down my stairs (on the way to work) and it was PAINFUL. I had been just dealing with some swelling and soreness for about a week and I thought it was feeling better, but oh no. So this time my husband took me there (I couldnât drive with my bum knee yesterday). I preregistered online so when I got there I really didnât have all that much to do as far as paperwork and such. They were courteous and friendly- as they always are with me- and the doctor gave my situation complete attention, as did the radiologist when doing my X-rays. With most knee injuries an appointment with an orthopedic doctor is usually the next step, which I will have, but I feel that everything that this doctor could have done, he did. It took a little while to be seen by the radiologist for X-rays but that wasnât an issue (nor a fault)- there were three other patients ahead of me having X-rays. So we went to have a little dinner down the street at Nickâs Roast Beef- I had to mention that because itâs so good- then when we came back I was seen a few minutes later. Then I had a follow up discussion with the doctor about the images, what my game plan was and then having a knee brace fitted. Yes, the whole event took a couple hours, but I donât understand why anyone would want to have something as important as this- your health- be rushed. Whenever there is a wait, I know they are taking care of others at that moment. However, I did make a reservation (during online registration) for 5:15 and I believe I was seen at 5:20-5:25. So preregistration online is definitely encouraged, that way you are more likely to get seen in a timely manner. To sum it up, Iâm so glad they are here- obviously because Iâve been there three times in these past few months and I feel I can count on them. I still canât understand some of the abysmal reviews they get- the first time I went, obviously my experience was really good, but I still thought that maybe it was just a fluke. Albeit a GOOD fluke. But now with three visits, I think I can say with some certainty that they are a solid operation with a wonder team of professionals who actually might just care about your well being⊠Another visit 10/11-...
Read moreThis urgent care has hardly any triage. It pretty much is first come, first served so even if you're fairly serious you'll be stuck behind covid tests cases.
Not only that, but theres no social distancing in the waiting room despite being a walkin covid test clinic and they didnt even have soap in the bathroom. I mentioned the soap to the receptionist and she passive aggressively responded "okkayyy"
They have this online scheduling tool they expect you to know to use to register before you arrive. I did, but there was a bug and it wouldnt let me upload my ID and insurance photos so I had to fill out a paper form. Most people did, because the online tool was broken.....which caused a huge backup because the receptionist had to manually enter each one. Sure, being understaffed is one thing, but when doctors are waiting in back for patients to just be entered into the system, youd think they'd take the time to fix the online tool. She was also very passive aggressive, I'm assuming from all the upset patients shes got to deal with... still, kindness goes a long way.
Other folks waited an hour before finding out the facility didnt even have the proper equipment (xray) for their needs because they NEVER ASKED WHAT THE ISSUE WAS! How can you be an urgent care and not do any basic level of triage??
Once I finally got in to see a doctor, they didnt even take my vitals. I was worried about an ear or sinus infection and all he did was take a quick look in my ear and throat and said I had a cold. Sure, maybe that's true but he didnt even know I was running a fever because he didnt check. After waiting almost 2 hours, because of all the covid tests for vaca and school, the doctor spent literally 2...
Read moreAs much as I would like to give a better rating due to the wonderful, friendly gentleman who we interacted with and who administered the Covid test to my son, I cannot because everything after that was a nightmare. We were told we could not use the online portal to get test results because my son was under 18. I immediately asked for an alternate number to call for test results, but was told there isnât one so I would just need to call the main number. I called yesterday morning and my call was disconnected 3 times in a row. I then called again at 1:04pm and was disconnected after 16 minutes. I called again at 1:20pm and proceeded to sit on hold for THREE HOURS AND THIRTY-SEVEN minutes, at which time I hung up because my son actually decided to drive there and arrived only to find out the results werenât in yet. This morning I started calling at 8:08am. I called NINE TIMES. Every single time, I selected the option to get test results and every single time the phone rang and rang until it finally disconnected me after about 5 minutes. So, what else is there to do, but get in my car and drive there to get the results. I explain to the girl at the desk why I am there to get my results and she gives me an attitude, asks for my sonâs info and does not say 1 other word to me. Doesnât tell me the result, just prints out the paper, puts it in an envelope and hands it to me. No empathy, no apology, no basic customer service skills.....no nothing....even after knowing why I had to come in for the results. Totally unacceptable experience for a customer all around. Staff your phones or make call backs to customers that are anxiously waiting for very important...
