I ordered takeout last night from Thai Sticky Rice Restaurant in Arlington and got the Tom Kha Gai chicken Thai soup (coconut milk based) which was tasty. I also ordered my choice of tofu and vegetable Panang Curry plus steamed white rice which was very flavorful with some hot spice (**) but not overwhelming ( just the way I like it). Although the rice was an add-on (not included in the entre) the total cost of these 3 items was affordable at $24.07. My review is genuine, unaffiliated and uninfluenced ( wouldn't do it any other way). I definitely recommend giving this relatively new restaurant a try. It has replaced the former Asian restaurant that was there and has been redecorated. Note: I ordered take-out from the menu that was delivered thru snail mail in Arlington. It seems that it may not include some other menu items that you can order when you sit down or order online so consider stopping for dining in or accessing the online menu. Also the staff was very pleasant and communicative even at 9:30pm on a Saturday. I do recommend this Thai Sticky Rice restaurant for both take-out and dine-in and will be returning. They are located between Arlington Center and Arlington Heights on Mass Ave which makes it...
Read moreI really wanted to like this new restaurant. The woman taking the order on the phone was very kind and friendly. We ordered tofu pad thai, steamed shrimp shumai and miso soup. The pad thai was way too sweet and the noodles cooked al dente and very chewy. The tofu was inedible as it was very hard. The shumai had something hard in it that I couldn't eat. Not good. The miso soup was very good.
When they took payment over the phone they told me that there is a delivery charge and also I have to tip the driver. Tipping culture has become so odd since Covid. Either you pay a driver a fee or you tip, not both. When the driver arrived he rang the doorbell three times in a row and pounded on the door.
We won't be retuning to Thai Sticky Rice either for takeout or dining in. Again, I really wanted to like it, but given the above comments, I will...
Read moreI stopped by for a light weekday lunch with a friend. We sat in a quiet booth and had a great time catching up. It wasn’t super busy. Thai iced teas, summer rolls (very stuffed with shredded veggies and accompanied by a rich peanut sauce on the side), and a papaya salad (tangy, with shrimp and roasted peanuts). She ordered a dragon and spider roll (very good— crunchy tempura shrimp and great flavors). The menu is quite extensive so definitely worth repeat visits.
Service was attentive but non intrusive. They accept cards but cash preferred. There is street parking along Mass Ave. Located by...
