We had a marvelous time at the Iowa Great Lakes Maritime Museum....we laughed a lot as we reminiced about our visits to Arnold's Park from years ago. It was great to see the Fun House attractions:. Sugar Bowl, Barrel, and Wood slide. The crazy mirrors caused tears of laughter!

This place is awesome – they kept the deathtrap gunnysack slide from by guy in years. I fell down that slide when I was five years old and totally face planted vertically. The other day the same thing happened to my nephew – nothing wrong with the battle scar or two.

Awesome little free museum. There were so many cool boats and other artifacts and a great vintage boat vibe. They made great use of the space by hanging boats and other artifacts up high, like a clothesline with vintage swimsuits.

This museum is jam packed with artifacts, history, newspaper clippings, videos, photos, memorabilia, the list goes on. You could literally spend hours in here and not see and read everything. It really is a pretty cool and entertaining place to experience - and it's all free. If you ask the staff (which are amazing by the way), they will start a film for you regarding the history of the Okoboji area which I found to be pretty interesting. I've probably come to visit a dozen times and see something new every...

One of the finest Maritime Museum's I have visited. Very well organized and friendly volunteer staff. The wooden boats are some of my favorites along with the old store and fishing tackle/motors. Mary Kennedy is the Curator and keeps the place spotless. It's a must...
