What can I say? It's a Walmart. Make no mistake. This is not a super walmart. Nor is it a slightly modified super walmart. This is an "OG"/Old School basic no frills Walmart. There is a fantastic view of the Pacific Ocean from the back half of the north side of the parking lot. They have a decent but very minimal selection of food, crafts, small appliances, vacuums, door knobs, $25 cheap hand mixers in which there will be no price cutting even if the display model w/no box is all that is left on the shelf, electronics, sports, fishing, hardware, paint, tools, home needs, dishes and bedding, Hygiene products, pet supplies outdoor/patio/flower and decor, etc. The largest departments are clothing and shoes & toys. Being that this walmart is located in CA. I am pleased to tell you that this location is one of 2 I'm aware of in which you don't have an exasperating and often feudal wait for some poor excuse for assistance in order to get the plexiglass unlocked in order to put a can of spray paint in your shopping cart after providing appropriate proof of age by presenting a current CA. state issued photo ID, Drivers License, Birth Certificate with an official state embossed seal along with an expired or out of state form of photo ID so that somebody employed by walmart *(typically somebody that struggles with reading, doesn't know where the DOB is even located on an ID and certainly will have to write out the math and show their work before they will even select the paint shelf lock key or give you the time of day! Where are these detail oriented pros when they are selling bearded minors liquor. So yeah... There are some departments I'm sure I omitted from this essay. I thought that I should keep it fun and interesting by leaving a few surprises for everyone to discover on their own. In my opinion. I must disclose to everybody what I think is most important as well as the true difference maker for this Walmart. It is the rarest gem in support of patronizing this Walmart over other Walmarts. This Walmart does have a very friendly and...
Read moreSo I wrote a review yesterday about our horrible experience and today the review is gone. Unbelievable. So here I am, writing again. On Saturday 8/18/18, we celebrated the life of my aunt. We ordered a helium tank online with a pick up at this Walmart. The tank was ready for pick up on Wednesday, we weren’t able to pick it up until Saturday. After getting to our event and after realizing the helium tank was not only empty but there were party decorations in the box from the previous user...this tank was bought, not rented and should’ve been full. Walmart told us to bring the tank back to exchange. That was impossible as we were at Oceano Dunes and had no time to pack up, drive back to Walmart and get a new tank. After some more talking with the manager we found out they didn’t even have any more tanks. We were told to come get a refund and go to Vons to buy a new tank. Nevermind we were all from out of town and had a small window to prepare for the celebration of Life, but Vons does NOT sell helium tanks. The lack of empathy by this store amazed me. This wasn’t a birthday party! The helium was for balloons, we were going to write our message to our loved one on the balloons and release them so our messages could be taken to heaven for her to read. That was our special way of saying goodbye and we were robbed that opportunity. I highly believe our FULL tank was sold since it wasn’t picked up the day it was ready, and we were given a helium tank that had obviously been returned. Thanks for NOTHING WALMART! If I could give you a hundred negative stars I would. You suck! The only reason I’m giving you 1 star is because I have no choice if I want to write a review. Which is dumb because you don’t deserve it. And you’ll probably delete this post again so I’m also putting it on Yelp. On a good note, the Celebration of Life for my aunt was...
Read moreI'd say the selection & variety of.product options is one of the reasons I shop there as they have most basic needs covered in maybe, at times, a less than ideal form for personal preference, but they have a little of anything one could want or ask for to get in one big store. On the other hand I rather hold a grudge from a not too distant past, when Corporations like McDonakds & Walmart began bullying small, locally owned stores out of business one after another until there are less & less... nearing none... As far as big box stores which sell mostly products with artificially low prices which tend to eliminate the less powerful competition, Walmart knew what people wanted & filled the niche rather shockingly well. I may miss stores I had a chance of buying one day, but I can now start an online store & have little overhead instead! I still prefer shopping in person, & meeting people as you go! This is a Walmart which does it's job of living up to corporate & public standards of cleanliness, efficiency, & I'm sure profitability, so the location is also great being right near the 101 freeway on the South side of Arroyo Grande. You will probably love the selection & prices too. Update: I miss being & eating healthier & pre-inflation life bad, but for affordable food until 11pm...I still think we were screwed over for Covid 19 (possibly unrelated)! We should have 24 hour grocery stores and All night Clubs with sleep cubbies for rent... And this is a great big Walmart, with a great selection of products for nearly anyone to find things they like, and a huge...
