As all things do, reviews have to change as well based on the service you receive. We were loyal customers but received the opposite from Camp Bow Wow - South Asheville. We chose Camp Bow Wow over a year ago when we moved to Asheville because of the owner, Avery and what appeared to be a genuine concern for our 2 dogs. We completed the interview and all seemed well. Over the last year our dogs have went to camp and have been boarded numerous times (thousands of dollars). So where did the issues start? We noticed changes over time as staff had changed with the exception of Avery and Brandon. When this happened it seemed the service changed as well. You could see on the cameras that new staff didn’t really pay attention to the dogs or favored one over another. When we would pick our pups up, staff would seem like they were more of a bother by saying they were ok or nothing at all. So after a year of being a loyal customer and no issues, this week while out of state I received a call from Brittany who is the normally at the front desk. Brittany left a message saying she needed to speak to me about my dogs behavior. When I called back within the hour the lady who answered said oh the dogs are fine and Brittany will call you tomorrow. The next day I did not get a call, so I called and Brittany said oh your one dog attacked another one and they are not welcome back. We rushed back to pick them up the next day because we have no family in the area. I asked to see the video which showed one of my dogs and another dog intertwined. You couldn’t really tell what was going on. According to Brittany my dog was being aggressive. Now keep in mind after speaking to Brittany on the phone the day before, I watched the cameras and noticed how all the dogs were playing (even taking screen shots). I noticed the same type of playing/behavior with other dogs that Brittany described about mine. I also noticed a lack of supervision. When I picked up my dogs, l asked for the owner, Avery to call me because maybe there was a misunderstanding or Brittany was overreacting. Avery did call the next day but only agreed with Brittany and didn’t have any additional information to add except that my dog was not suitable for group play. Now the problem I have is my dogs have been going to this facility for over a year with no major problems and after one issue with a dog you say don’t come back! Well I have boarded the same dogs in Florida and Tennessee with no issues. There were no issues before Brittany was at Camp Bow Wow- South Asheville. I wanted to ask why wasn’t time out or redirection used but I could tell they had their mind made up. I gave two stars because they do keep the facility very clean. I am very disappointed because up until this point we had praised them and felt comfortable leaving our dogs...
Read moreThis location of Camp Bow Wow is by far the best doggy daycare & boarding!! I tried out multiple doggy daycares in the Asheville area before finding Camp Bow Wow. The moment I stepped inside their facility I knew I was going to feel comfortable with leaving little Luna in their hands, as well as I knew Luna was going to have so much fun!! The employees at Camp Bow Wow are not just random people, they are ALL dog lovers and they all give every dog the love and attention they need, as well as separating dogs when they get too hyper/crazy lol. If you want your dog to go to daycare or have them boarded, I promise you, you will not be disappointed with Camp Bow Wow! My favorite things are: the cameras in all the yards, the super friendly & caring staff, the fact that they do not have crates, they have huge cabins for your dog to eat their meals, sleep, rest, etc. as well as the feeling I get when I drop little Luna off, Luna practically pulls me inside the building and try’s to go under the office gate so she can start playing with her friends!!! If you’re questioning anything, you can take a tour, ask a million questions (trust me I asked a lot of questions and they did not mind answering them all). You won’t regret becoming apart of the Camp Bow Wow family!!
Everyone is super nice!! But there are certain people that I want to thank for being so friendly, nice, and make Luna & I feel like family. Avery, thank you for being so accommodating and making us feel so welcomed, I love knowing that you require every yard to be cleaned and sanitized tons of times throughout the day, and thank you for hiring only the best staff to take care of all the dogs! Brittany thank you for always allowing me to call and ask so many questions, congratulations on your promotion!! Emily, thank you for being so nice and welcoming to Luna and I, as well as always going out of the way for Luna and I, you seriously go above & beyond for us! Ashley, thank you so so much for ALWAYS having a happy and positive attitude (even at 6am)! You always make Luna and I feel so comfortable, I love dropping her off in the morning when you're there because Luna get EXTREMELY happy to see you & you get excited to see her! Last but definitely not least, Sherry! Sherry, thank you for always making sure Luna is being kind and putting her in her place when she starts to get too crazy! Sherry, Luna is with you 80% of the time and I am glad I know she is with someone that gives her loves, plays with her, but also makes sure she is not getting too crazy! I know Luna can be a handful so thank you all for loving her and watching her...
Read moreCamp Bow Wow is the BEST of the best when it comes to dog boarding! We have been using them for a few years now, and I know we can always rest easy knowing our babies are being spoiled and loved when we travel. We rarely go out of town (I'd say we maybe board our dogs 2-3 times per year), but it is ALWAYS an amazing experience for us when we do.
Brittany is especially AMAZING! Any time I would call to book a reservation, before I even said who my dogs were Brittany would recognize my voice and say, "Is this Sasha and Bo?!" with such enthusiasm and excitement. It wouldn't matter if it had been over six months since our last stay...she ALWAYS remembered who we were and gives us the VIP treatment! Something tells me that she treats all of the clients that way, and it is just beyond impressive!
We had a 14 year old terrier mix that isn't particularly social and had a tough time around new spaces and people. Brittany ALWAYS made her feel absolutely adored and pampered. For her to go out of her way and love on our girl in an extra special way (when she wasn't the warmest of dogs) just melted my heart so much and made us beyond grateful every time. Sasha has since passed away, but it was always so reassuring to know she was in such great hands when we did travel out of town.
Even when we don't travel, we frequently use Camp Bow Wow for just a day visit spa day where they get a bath and nails trimmed too. Everyone there is absolutely wonderful and they have the cleanest, most organized, and most well run facility I've ever seen. I am always so impressed and amazed with the five star service. The fact that they have cameras you can view in their app while you're away is just the cherry on top! What a special treat to be able to check in on our pups while we're away. Everything is just top notch there!
What's even more amazing is how much this business does for the rescue community. We foster for three different local rescues, and we found out about Rusty's Legacy through Camp Bow Wow (who we now foster and volunteer for). Camp Bow Wow ALWAYS steps up so much to foster, train, and love dogs in dire need of a place to stay until they get adopted. I am just beyond thankful for everything they do!
We now have a new puppy and I'm excited for her to love Camp Bow Wow as much as our other dogs have always done. Thank you for everything...
