Swan Creek Park — Attraction in Athens

I like this place overall. I don't like that they got rid of some of the tennis courts and hopefully they put those back. That's why I took off an extra star. The bathroom is not great and it makes you feel nasty to use it....but at least it has one. The trail is nice usually. It's cool they have the archery area...They also have picnic tables in the wooded area and the covered areas as well. There are lights in the covered areas as well. They also have some outlets...that work (or they used to) The place closes at 10 pm and so you can't be there after then. Be careful though...some men are not safe there. My sister has a man try to get her to walk off the trail with him after trying to act all in need of somebody to walk with and as if he's vulnerable....So yeah...be smart and carry what you need to protect yourself. She had another incident a while ago as well. I never go alone and so I haven't. ..so remember...safety in numbers and if not being...

Such a great place for a morning walk! I am on a road trip and stayed in Athens overnight. It’s a long drive day ahead, and it was so lovely to take advantage of the great walking paths here to start the day. I was here at 6:30am and there were plenty of people out walking and running to feel safe. I love staying outside of large cities to discover hidden gems like this park and Athens in general. There is a master gardener area too with beautiful flowers...

Great trail for a long walk or a bike ride. The creek is beautiful, the day we went people were fishing at every decent place to try to go and stomp around in the water so we skipped on that part but still could enjoy the beauty of it all. There were lots of benches and places to take a break while the kids played Pokémon go. Definitely will return with the bikes to make it a...
