Title: So disappointed… this used to be my go-to spot
I’ve been coming here for manicures for a while and always had a good experience—until today. I’m honestly so sad to say this, but I don’t think I can come back after what happened.
I came in for a Gel-X manicure, told the front desk, and was sat with a tech. I showed both women a photo of what I wanted—a milky white, natural nail look. Everything seemed fine at first, but then the tech started applying tips, which I didn’t ask for. I told her “no tips” and she said okay, but kept going. I figured maybe she was just going to cut them down short since my nails are naturally tiny, so I said “okay, we can make them medium length.” But she never cut them and left them super long and square (more like rectangles honestly).
Then the UV light kept burning my fingers. I told them it hurt, and their response was “just stick it in and out.” I’ve had plenty of gel manicures before, and it has never felt like that.
When it came time for color, I reminded them I wanted a soft milky white like my inspo. That’s when she suddenly says, “Oh, you should’ve done powder.” Why am I just now being told that after everything’s done? I didn’t know what else to do at that point so I just said, “Give me red.”
I told the manager what happened, and instead of understanding, he told me I “said the wrong service.” But if I said I wanted a manicure on my real nails, why would you give me a full set with tips? I feel like I was pushed into something I didn’t ask for, and still charged $130. He gave me $7 off, but I paid $123 for nails I don’t like and can barely function with.
Both women were nice, but the communication was totally off. I walked out with nails way too long, not the shape or color I wanted, and feeling ignored. I hate that I feel this way about a place I used to love.
Just sharing in case anyone else has a specific look in mind—they may not listen, and you might still end up paying full price for something you...
Read moreWorst French manicure I've ever received. The shape is horrendous and my hands were left with glue, dried acrylic, and gel polish all over them. One of my thumbs literally has a noticeably uneven acrylic application. I pointed the lump on my thumb out when she was trying to draw the white line over it and couldn't get it to curve the way she wanted it to. She didn't fix it. I've never witnessed someone struggle so hard to draw the white lines at the tips of a person's nails for a French manicure. I spoke up and tried so hard to communicate to which I was mostly ignored as if she didn't understand what I was saying unless she was asking if I was ok. Whenever I'd answer that question with what I wanted her to correct, I was again ignored. It was the end of the night and there weren't many other options. She left so much glue and polish on my hands that the person at the register offered to clean my hands and cuticles up for me. It was horrible. The pedicure wasn't bad, and was done by Sam. However, I was rushed to find a color and ask for his assistance in finding a nude to which he was so condescending in the way that he said no that I just opted to go without polish on my feet. I still paid the $125 that I was charged plus a $5 tip to each tech. I shouldn't have done that, but I hate the way that they look at you or treat you when you don't tp or argue the price even if they know the quality of service was extremely poor. I do not recommend this place and will never return there. I just wanted to get my nails done while I was home on military leave and this is what I got. I tried to post a video but could not..the photos posted were after our attempt to clean them up
Response to their reply: No thank you. I was serious when I said I’d never come back or spend another cent there. Plus I informed the tech that worked with me that I was in the military and would be leaving soon. I’m not in that...
Read moreI have never written a negative review before, but I felt compelled to share my experience. I went to Lush to get SNS for the first time 3 weeks ago. Today I went to get the nails taken off, and underneath the polish my thumb nail had started to grow fungus. This occurs when moisture gets trapped under the applied SNS. When I asked how this happened, they confirmed my nails hadn’t started coming off to allow moisture entering (which can happen if you wait too long to get them taken off/replaced). They said it was likely due to my nail being improperly cleaned prior to applying the SNS.
The tech went to speak to another woman working about the issue, who explained what had happened and said I needed to put anti fungal medication on it. She said I could BUY it from them if I needed to. I asked if I could get it for free since they admitted that the fungus was caused by the improper application of the SNS. She said she would have to call her boss. After calling, I was informed they would NOT give me the anti fungal because it had been too long since I had gotten the SNS applied. (3 weeks is the recommended time to get SNS taken off.) They said I should have been able to see the problem sooner and come to them, but I couldn’t see what was under the opaque nail color. They said all they would do is apply a drop of the medication while I was in the salon.
In the end I paid the $50+ for the original SNS, $33 for the removal (which was not comped), and $30 for an anti fungal medication from CVS. If it doesn’t resolve on its own I will have to pay to see a doctor to get a prescription.
I understand mistakes happen, but the way management handled this was unacceptable. They never apologized and did not try to correct the problem in any way. I would strongly discourage anyone from using...
