Came here with my son's cub scout den and was supposed to have a guided nature walk by the gentleman that runs the place, followed by an educational class inside the building. Was a little disappointed when the guide didn't show up, without a phone call or explanation. Basically turned in to a cold walk through the woods on a Sunday afternoon. Not horrible, but not what we came there for. Overall the facility looked nice, and after peeking through the window of the building, was more disappointed we didn't get to see the animals he had in there. A beautiful park with six small cabins, community house, pavilion, clean restroom, marked trail systems. All recently updated, with much volunteer work done by various Boy Scout troops.
Heaps of love went into making this a usable nature preserve for the public.
Lots of poison ivy just about everywhere (even at the trailhead). I don't recommend walking your sweet puppy here, nor letting small kids stray near the edges of the trails.
Still worth going -- learn about nature .. enjoy the beauty.

An excellent serene escape from urban life. The grounds were very well kept with plenty of room for yard games.
