Came here with my son's cub scout den and was supposed to have a guided nature walk by the gentleman that runs the place, followed by an educational class inside the building. Was a little disappointed when the guide didn't show up, without a phone call or explanation. Basically turned in to a cold walk through the woods on a Sunday afternoon. Not horrible, but not what we came there for. Overall the facility looked nice, and after peeking through the window of the building, was more disappointed we didn't get to see the animals he had in there. Rating will go up if we come back and the...

A beautiful park with six small cabins, community house, pavilion, clean restroom, marked trail systems. All recently updated, with much volunteer work done by various Boy Scout troops.

Heaps of love went into making this a usable nature preserve for the public.

Lots of poison ivy just about everywhere (even at the trailhead). I don't recommend walking your sweet puppy here, nor letting small kids stray near the edges of the trails.

Still worth going -- learn about nature .. enjoy the beauty.

No cost for parking as of date of...

Truly a wonderful experience. The lodge is beautifully updated with picturesque woodland scenery all around. The staff was very accommodating as well as friendly. An excellent serene escape from urban life. The grounds were very well kept with plenty of room for yard games. All of this paired with a fair cost makes Hawk Woods a well rounded family friendly environment for gatherings of all kinds. Parking is fairly limited, however sufficient for our gathering. I look forward to...

Really pretty woodland trail. Not very long and not only slight gradients so suitable for all ages. Marshland or boardwalk is currently closed and alot of the boardwalk is sunken into the lake/stream. I found out the hard way. Lol all in all enjoyable! Some lovely places to picnic or camp. The gazebo area near the parking lot has free books to read while there, which is very nice. And a coal BBQ area.

Beautiful park!!! New events building built in 2020 and it’s gorgeous! They also have new log cabins for group camping. Looking at the website. rental is inexpensive. Trails of several different types: nature paths through woods, wide walking path around a pond, boardwalk area near a marsh. Tons of wildflowers. We were the only people there on 4th of July weekend when we went for a walk.
