Went to Regal in Auburn for the 1st time last night, and was not entirely happy with the experience. We saw How to Train Your Dragon. I was enjoying the arcade area with several kids we took while my husband purchased tickets for us. The arcade was well mainted and all game worked so that was a plus. The cashier who helping us did not have customer service, I’m not sure if he was having a bad day or not, but he acted as if it was inconvenient for him to be speaking with us to purchase tickets. My husband tried making small talk and being friendly with him, asking him how his day was and if he had seen the movie and enjoyed it, the employee said “he didn’t know and didn’t really care”. Not only was his attitude sour, he had chosen to give us 7pm tickets when we informed we were seeing the 7:30 showing (we purchased at 7:10) so we then had to redue this a whole process. In addition to this all of the kids got water glasses at the start of the film, and as kids do got thirsty during the film. There was no self service station for water refills so we had to ask for assistance each time. Now being a mom to multiple children I understand it can be frustrating to continue to help a child with the same thing, however this employee eventually gave my kids a larger cup and said “he was tired of them asking for more”. The theater it’s self was clean and open and seating was amazing! The bathrooms we well kept and the movie was great, the service...
Read moreAn interesting theater location. We're not that familiar with the geography of the town Auburn. We live a couple of towns over to the west.
As I suspected the movie Babylon had a short at Roseville/Rocklin theaters. The only place still showing the within 100 miles was the Regal Theater in Auburn. So, after a quick dinner at Bennett's we headed up the hill to Auburn. This particular showing came at 6:50 pm so it was dark as we followed along with our gps as our guide. Took the Maple St off I 80 and proceeded to take an overpass back over 80 and headed north After a few minutes driving on a very dark, spooky rural looking road we dutifully made a right turn when our gps told us to do so.
At first we thought it might be one of those gps glitches that had us driving down a dark ramp into the river by mistake. However we put our trust into system and, lo and behold as crested the top of road there was a neon Regal Theater in all of it's pink and blue and yellow glory. The theater itself looks to be getting a little long in tooth. No recliner chairs for this venue. Just the old frayed burgundy tweed old school style. Bring your sanitizer just keep on the sanitized side of the equation. The screen, sound system were great. No issues there. Including my wife I think all 5 of us in theater...
Read moreI just took our family to the movies last weekend 10/19/2019. This is our favorite home town theater. The execs , and powers that be, have destroyed the experience by making people stand in the popcorn/soda line to purchase tickets. The reason we still like going to the movies here is there was no line, no hassle, and people were polite. Fandango? Online Regal Pre-purchased tickets? It doesn't matter....you still have to wait in the same line. You could tell the employees were frazzled and doing their best with lines out the door, irritated customers, and a new operation that is not working. It's not like you can even have the family go sit in the theater and wait while you grab drinks and popcorn since they covered up the movie names on the inside marquee and will not tell you which theater until you purchase a ticket. It's obvious they are trying to push people to purchase snacks and drinks by forcing them through the line. I hope they really re-think this policy and turn it back into our quaint hometown, pleasant movie theater. No reason to stand stand in long lines with irritated people to purchase overpriced food and drinks when you can have no lines, same prices, and better seats in Roseville....
