GRWM for my monthly hair extension move-up @Damron and Company Salon. - I’m recording the audio 11 days after vocal surgery with Dr. Toby Mayer in Beverly Hills, and my voice is still extremely hoarse, even after resting it for 3 days. I’m keeping my fingers crossed it will sound much better as it heals. - Today is my month hair extension move-up session with Susan Campanaro and she has her work cut out for her. My hair was tied up in a bun for surgery and I laid on it carelessly during surgery, in recovery, and for the entire time after due to not being able to move my neck up, down, left or right. This created huge amounts of tangles. - Also, since I wasn’t able to shower and get my head wet for several days post-surgery, I had resorted to using a curling iron on my natural hair and completely dried it out in the process. Susan suggested a deep-moisturizing treatment, which I did yesterday, and all of my natural curls have returned. - Blending curly extensions with my natural hair is a huge challenge, as my natural curls sit somewhere in between wavy and ringlets, so there are no extensions that match my natural curls. - This requires daily styling if I want to properly blend my natural hair with my extensions. - Another big challenge is how thin the hair on the top of my head has gotten due to all of my surgeries. Anesthesia tends to cause large amounts of hair loss and it can take a full year to recover. I’ve now had 5 surgeries in the past 2-years which has played a major role in my hair thinning. - Next stop is Istanbul, Turkey for another 3,000-4,000 hair grafts in either late June or late July. It will take an entire year for those grafts to create volume, but it will be the final piece in the puzzle for my face/hair. - After that, it’s a fat transfer, most likely one more rhinoplasty, and then bottom surgery to cross the finish line and finally be done with my physical transition. - What other GRWM’s would you like to see? - Not a paid partnership with Damron Salon. - Gabbi - #grwm #hairextensions #hairdresser

*this is my husbands account - can’t figure out how to switch accounts on my iPhone LOL* anyway, I’ve seen Rockstar Richie twice now (wish it could be more)! He’s done wonders to my hair. I don’t have crazy curls, but I do have decent wavy curls. However, they’ve suffered due to all the products & heat I’ve put on it for years. Since seeing Rockstar Richie I feel confident letting my hair air dry & I feel beautiful with the end result! It’s been a real boost to my mood since having two children during the pandemic lol. I may be wearing leggings & sweatshirts all day, but at least my hair looks amazing! So glad I found him & this salon. Photos are post cut, freshly showered & air dried using the products that Rockstar Richie recommended using. The curls are before I fluffed them out. They are so healthy since I don’t use heat. I love it!

Rockstar Richie is amazing! I went in for my first ever Deva cut after not having my haircut in a few years due to previous bad experiences. I was nervous because I was also planning to get my very curly hair cut shorter than I’d ever had it before. Not only did Richie make me feel at ease immediately, he truly seemed to care that this be a positive experience all around. He listened to ensure I was getting exactly what I wanted, taught me how to take even better care of my curls and tailored the care routine he recommended based on my needs because he knew I needed something low maintenance. After a lifetime of hair trauma and feeling dread anytime I needed to get it cut, I have finally found a stylist I trust completely with my curls and look forward to seeing again!

I was charged $400 for a keratin treatment that left my scalp blistered, sore, and peeling. Would not recommend! I was so excited to receive my first ever keratin treatment and I had called multiple salons and ended up choosing Damron because Brisa was so helpful on the phone. When I called back to book my appointment, I was told that the price listed on the website for keratin treatments was incorrect (250+) and that it is usually double that but that they would honor the price because it is listed online. When I got to the salon, during the process my stylist Brisa told me the price for MY hair would be $350 and asked if that was okay, I said yes. I understand I have a lot of hair and it is extremely thick and curly. When it came time to blow dry my hair with the keratin treatment in it, the fumes from the treatment were so STRONG it made my eyes water and my throat burn, I literally could not breathe and we had to take breaks bc the fumes were too strong even with a mask and they did not have a fan or proper ventilation. This is when I started wondering if I had made a wrong decision. I had asked if this product was formaldehyde free and was told there was no formaldehyde in it however, once these chemicals are heated they do contain formaldehyde and are often hidden in the ingredients under names like “aldehyde” etc. No one should lie to their clients about what is in the products being used. Moving on, I could tell that the stylist was having a difficult time trying to blow dry my hair and didn’t realize my hair would need to be dryed in small sections. My scalp was also starting to burn which isn’t supposed to happen and means the product was definitely put on too close to my scalp. The entire procedure took 7/8 hours..... I had not eaten anything the entire day and was told the procedure would only be about 3/4 hours. Again, I understand I have ALOT of hair however I blame the amount of time on the stylist not being familiar with my hair texture/ proper handling of my hair as I have had many diff hair appointments and none that were 8 hours long. After being in the salon for 8 hours and being exhausted when I went to pay I was asked for $400. $50 more than what I was told I would pay at the beginning of the procedure. I explained that this is not what I was quoted and that the extra $50 was supposed to be her tip. The owner of the salon then said that if she had looked at my hair she would have charged me $600 and would have probably not done my hair. While that may be the case, it is not my fault I was quoted incorrectly from the beginning and if the stylist was worried or unskilled in my hair type I would have much rather her declined me than have me spend 8 hours in a salon to charge me double than what I was expecting and leave my scalp damaged! When I sent pictures of my peeling scalp to my stylist her reply was “have you washed your hair?” No concern, no apology, no solution to fix the issue. She said it should be fine after a wash which it isn’t. While I had nothing personal against my stylist and actually liked her attitude and willingness to continue with my hair I am beyond disappointed in her response and the raising of the price after my treatment was done....

I had my first appointment at Damron Salon today with Susan Campanaro. The salon is very cute and comfortable. I really appreciated that the cutting stations are positioned in a thoughtful way such that I never made eye contact with another client or stylist, even though you're all in the same room you feel a sense of privacy. I admit, I'm a little shy and this was a nice surprise. A few more thoughtful features are the neck/head support at the washing station and the foot rest at the dryer for us shorter people. I've never had such a comfortable wash.

Now to the best part, Susan gave me a great haircut. It's perfect and just what I asked for. I can't remember the last time I've had a haircut where I didn't come home and wash out all the product and restyle my hair. I've had really good stylists before but never one who checked every box. I think Susan is the holy grail of stylists for me. She listened, she asked if I was happy with the final cut and I felt very comfortable to say where I wanted a minor change. She told me what she was doing all along the way and taught me a few new tricks. She's good at her job and a very comfortable person to spend an hour hanging out with while she makes you beautiful.

Lastly, I've been to many stylists who said they were Deva trained but I know they were not actually Deva trained. I'll tell you how I know, a Deva cut happens on dry hair and it's washed afterwards. My first Deva stylist, who convinced me to let my curls live, used to cut each lock individually and always dry, he changed my life with all he taught me, that was over 15 years ago. Susan is the first person to give me a true Deva cut since him. So be warned there are many people who will claim to be Deva trained who are not. The training really does make...

GOING TO THIS SALON WILL BE THE BEST DECISION YOU WILL EVER MAKE, I PROMISE YOU!!!!!!

I went to get my hair done at another salon but I will not go into too much detail on here. If you want to know more about it you can email me @gmail on LauranConner89 . But Long story short the other salon OVER bleached my hair and left bleach AND color in my hair, after I left that salon I got into my car and pull my mirror down to see my hair, as I was running my fingers through my hair it start to FALL OUT IN CHUNKS!!!!! I started crying. I searched for another salon to fix it. I found one Damron and Fletcher Salon (best decision I ever made) I walked it and was greeted by 2 woman( Valerie and Susan) and at that point I broke down crying my eyes out and tried to explain what happened the next think I know Valerie takes me into her arms and I start crying even more. I think Susan starts hugging me as well!!! After a few minutes I calm down a little and they offer me wine.... it was at this point I knew I was in great hands and everything would be ok. The ladies at Damron and Fletcher Salon are AMAZING, I will NEVER GO ANY WHERE ELSE!! Susan puts me in her chair and I was so relaxed and felt 200% better than when I had walked in. My hair is now in a short pixi cut and I LOVE IT!! Susan did an amazing job, I WILL NEVER LET ANYONE ELSE TOUCH MY HAIR except for the ladies at Damron and Fletcher. They made me feel like family. Their salon is so beautiful and CLEAN!! They all were so comforting and understanding. And on top of all that they did NOT CHARGE ME!! They FIXED my fair for FREE!! How amazing is that for them to fix a mistake by another salon and not charge!!! I promise you will never find a better salon and a better...
