Oh man, where to start. It's decent and I'm grateful that it's there BUT that isn't saying it's without it's faults. As with most HPB locations, it's cozy & inviting, clean, the staff is super friendly and helpful & they do a heck-of-a-job with organizing their DVD/Blue-ray section! I think they should be very proud of the last 2.
Now this isn't quite typical for them but yesterday I wanted to pull my hair out looking for my newest book-affair. To reiterate this usually isn't an issue but the organization was "embarrassing" as it relates to alphabetization. I was so lost & confused -why is the author w/ a last name D squished between one w/ an L and one w/ an S? Why does the mathematics textbook section abrupt the general mathematics books? It was this way in enough sections to rule-out poor re-shelving from patrons.
Frustrated, I turned to a near-by staffer to inquire: he was sweet to the point making me feel predatory as I coaxed admission of their faulty organization. ~"If the sub-section only occupies a single shelf then it isn't alphabetized. Look to the shelf bar-code to figure out if that's what's happening". Understandable...
Read moreGreat place to shop at to find reasonable-priced books. I have been buying at Half Priced Books since the early 70s. You never know what out of print books you will find. For instance, I like to look for books on the Old West and Half Price used to put these books in a specific area in the American History section. Now, they're all mixed up with the rest of the books on American History. This wastes alot of my time and sometimes I get frustrated and leave. I have pointed out this problem to different employees, but the issue still persists. I'm not sure if this is happening in other subject-matters sections in the store. Overall, I still...

My wife and I collect antique (1950 and earlier) books, and we would drop in about once a week or two. I'd always swing through the clearance section and find 3-5 new books, usually under $5 each. They had a pretty great antique section too with all sorts of options and prices.
At the time of our move, we had around 400+ books, but with the stores we have around where we're at now, I wish I had stoppe in more (picture is about half the collection before being boxed up...
