UPDATE: I added 1 more star because of the owner's response. But I went ahead and uploaded the original receipt (which I truly thought we didn't get one but it turns out my friend found it in their pocket later). Not sure why he rung us up for TWO BURGERS like I originally stated, and yet only charged for one and brought out one. So the good thing is we apparently were only charged for 2 afterall, but either way they should have brought it to our attention instead of just making an assumption and showing up with one burger (again, how in the world does the total clearly say $29.44 but they charged us $20.25... sounds like the cashier's problem, not ours). Overall experience wasn't satisfying and from the other reviews I've seen, the attitude problems and excuses in this place are nothing new. Get new staff and train better.
I usually only leave a review if I really like a place, and don't normally bother with negative reviews, but this place just has poor service and attitudes, period. They charged us for 3 burgers when we ordered 2. The last time my friend came here, they did the same thing to him (double charge) and refused to correct it. He likes their burgers though and I'd never been, so we decided to give it a chance anyways.
We ordered 2 burgers, 2 drinks and 1 queso fries for $29. We gave them $40 cash and got back $10 and some change before my friend left a tip in the jar. They didn't give us a receipt and unfortunately we forgot to ask for one. We both very clearly ordered TWO burgers. When they brought our food, they only gave us 1 and took our table number.
My friend went to the counter and they told him that they accidentally only charged us for 1 burger and that's why they only gave us 1 burger (what kind of sense does that make??). First, we definitely paid for 2 burgers, the order was $29! Second, if that was the case then why didn't anyone come notify us instead of just showing up with 1. So they charged my friend for another burger and he paid.
Then I went up because I knew that they had definitely charged for 2 burgers in the first place, so it didn't make sense for my friend to pay for a third. Plus the new receipt they printed (which included the old order's details) CLEARLY showed that they charged for 2 the first time. FIVE dudes crowded the counter trying to figure out the error! They were all so confused and scrambling, I am convinced they were all high as a kite because I had to explain the situation several times and they were literally scratching their heads.
They disappeared to the back and when they came back they told us that what they did was correct because the cashier said the receipt only shows that because he edited the order and added it back in. If that was the case, I don't understand why the second burger was timestamped at the time of our FIRST ORDER on the receipt, and the third charge had a totally different timestamp. They kept insisting that they didn't see the problem.
We decided to just drop it and go eat. One of the cooks came to explain one more time to us what happened because he felt that we were the ones who weren't understanding. The whole vibe of the place was just weird. Definitely won't be coming back. For the price paid and the lack of attention during service, the burgers were definitely not worth it. Not a spectacular burger and the queso fries were $4.50 and were barely coated in cheese. I genuinely believe they pulled one over on us, especially considering this happened to my friend at this exact same location with the exact same crew the last time he came in. They're either highly sus, or just high in general and can't remember or pay...
Read moreAfter taking our five children to the Austin Aquarium, my husband and I decided to find a nearby restaurant for a quick dinner before traveling back home to Bastrop. We came across Moonies, and since the menu looked very appealing and they would still be open for a little over an hour, we crossed the highway and decided to give it a shot. We entered a very clean and aesthetically pleasing restaurant, and there were about ten people in the restaurant eating. As we approached the counter to order, the hostess/cashier couldn't have looked more annoyed, and the guy (cook?) in the window to the kitchen informed another employee that "seven just came in" with so much contempt in his voice that we felt very unwelcome in the establishment. We proceeded to order as the hostess/cashier was clearly annoyed with our presence. The food came out quickly as expected, and it was WONDERFUL! We ate quickly, and STILL before closing time my husband went up to order a vanilla milkshake from the menu. A different girl was ringing him up, and as he was paying the initial cashier girl came up and asked, "Really?!" The cashier replied, "Well I already cleaned it". My husband of course didn't know he wasn't welcome to order a milkshake and was taken aback by the open rudeness. After leaving, we discussed how unfortunate it was that the food was so great, because we will definitely never come back for another unbelievably uncomfortable and...
Read moreHere’s a more constructive review for the overly arrogant owner that decided a negative comment deserved a negative reply. The bun was cold on top, soggy on the bottom. The burgers were overcooked and under seasoned, too lean or they cooked the fat all the way out. The lettuce had not been trimmed, one tomato in my burger was good the other wasn’t ripe/tough. “Garlic Aioli” = watery mayo. We thought getting burgers at a burger house was a safe bet, but sadly the tater tots were the only thing that tasted good. We thought Moonies was a step up from fast food/QSR’s, but they have clearly fallen to round out the local selection of McDonalds, Jack In the Box, and Wendy’s. So to be most helpful, I’d say retrain your staff, hold your managers to a higher standard, and as an owner focus on the consistency of the business as well as the customers overall satisfaction. Or just keep up the keyboard warrior stuff, do you baby girl.
Update The proof is evident in the continued replies. People can be wrong and stay that way. Clearly this interaction was witnessed by you*, yet mention nothing of people skipping the line, unprofessional counter service, unclean front of house and facilites, etc. My review is mine alone. What you think about it is only your opinion and people will interpret that however they want. I can tell people what I see and voice my personal review, to which some people might be informed by my review/this...
