I really am sorry to have to post this review. But I do feel targeted by the events that has taken place. I am from Colorado, Denver and I usually take morning runs, well this morning I decided to take a morning run in this park. And everything was just fine, then there was this older Mexican man with a cellphone walking around the park before I started running. I didn't think anything of it at first, then as I lapped him once I turn around and he's looking back at me. And I turn around and kept running. So as Im halfway around again the police show up and stop and park. Now it could be a coincidence, but then this guy crosses the street as I am approaching him again. Then as I am past him he crosses back over. Mind you I'm 6ft 2in black male. Not that I am intimidating by far, but it made me feel really uncomfortable. So I took a seat on one of the near by benches and waited to see what unfolds. So I sat down long enough for those two to exit the park. Hopefully those two read this, and think about not everyone that looks a certain way isn't always a...
Read moreVery nice, clean park with a much needed community activity center for the residents of nearby area. The grounds are well maintained. there was a play ground, walking paths, community pool, baseball fields, and tennis courts, and an outdoor basket ball court. There are open areas for family outdoor activities. The community center has many programs for children, adults, and senior citizens. They have after school programs, summer programs for children, free Zumba and Karate for all ages, senior activities and meals on wheels, and Austin PD is going to have a basket ball tournament with the children of the area sometime later this month. (August 2017) It is a very large complex that I just happened to drive past, notice, and took sometime to explore the area. The people of that part of the city are very lucky to have such a well maintained place to go for relaxing and enjoying time with their children and other citizens...
Read moreReally nice and underlooked park. We live a couple blocks away so it's become a staple for our family, but there's a great trail around the park that I believe is just under 1m, that is great for jogging or walking a pup. There's some more hiking trails into the woods though we generally avoid this as it's not totally stroller friendly.
Lots of play amenities, two separate playground set ups, neighboring each other - one seems to be a little more advanced for older kids. Beyond that there is also a Zipline, though it's down at the moment per the pandemic.
As far as other resources for all ages, there's a pool, the rec center, a super nice futsal court, basketball court, volleyball and several baseball/softball fields.
Overall we love the park and visit several times a week, really thankful so many nice resources are so close...
