I always try to keep things positive and have enjoyed golfing here; however, my last visit I was really disappointed with the course management.
Upon arrival I was informed that they only allow 2 golf carts per group. I had brought along my pregnant wife as a ride along (something we've done many times before at this course) and was golfing with another single so I thought it would be fine since we would only have 2 carts total in our group. The woman at the front desk, Barb, wouldn't allow my wife to ride along since "only people golfing are allowed to use the carts," and said that my wife would have to walk alongside us if she wanted to go?? Oh, and she still needs to pay the ride along fee!
We tried to cancel and she was super rude, actually yelling at us because we pointed out how silly that rule is and that it wasn't stated anywhere online when we booked. The single went out by himself in a cart on his own. If you like to have non golfers join you and just hangout then I...
Read moreGreat staff and management. I love the course and its sister course that shares the same parking lot and clubhouse. Clay is a woodsy, hilly course while Kizer is Austin’s closest thing to a links course, lots of sand and water with no trees on course. The greens and tee boxes were replaced with new turf and grass. Chris and his crew did a great job. The greens on both courses look and play great. Fairways are in great condition too. A big thanks to Steve - Austin golf director- good leadership supports great golf. Great senior membership: just over $600 a year and $3 each time you play. The memberships include 5 golf courses (Clay, Kizer, Lions, Morris Williams, and Hancock- a 9-hole course). The Clay-Kizer complex also has a four hole par three course named after Joe Balander, a wonderful man who managed the complex...
Read moreJimmy Clay Golf Course in Austin, TX, is a fantastic place to enjoy a round of golf. I played in a foursome during the evening, and the experience was exceptional. The greens and fairways were in excellent condition, making for a smooth and enjoyable round. The layout is both challenging and fun, catering to golfers of all skill levels.
Beyond the course itself, the staff at the pro shop and restaurant were outstanding—welcoming, knowledgeable, and attentive. Their hospitality added to the overall experience, making it even more enjoyable. I will definitely return to play again and also look forward to trying Roy Kizer Golf Course, which shares the same location. For anyone looking for a well-maintained course with a great atmosphere, Jimmy Clay is a...
