Flor Keeps — Attraction in Austin

First and foremost, I recently found out that I am allergic to fresh flowers. Last year, I asked my fiancé to buy me flowers because I love the sentiment and significance that they give to a person. However, when he bought them, I immediately started having a runny nose, sneezing, and redness/itchiness in the eyes. So unfortunately I had to throw the flowers away and stop buying flowers. Until NOW!

I came here on a whim after an instagram post listening that they are dried and preserved flowers. I figured that since they are dried, it would prevent my allergies from flaring up. Sure enough, I entered the shop and didn’t immediately start having a sneezing fit. Then, I risked my sinuses just for others who have the same issue as me, and I took a big whiff of the flowers. It has been an hour since I bought these beautiful flowers and I have yet took my first sneeze or feel any type of allergic flare!

The owner gave us an amazing experience for the few minutes we were there (we arrived 20 minutes before closing) and did not overstep or force any type of flowers to me.

I was looking for a bouquet for someone special who is very low maintenance and usually lets any bouquet she’s gifted sit there on the table until it has withered and dried up. When I found Flor Keeps, I knew it would be the perfect gift for her birthday.

I stopped by the flower shop and was surprised by the selection and variety. There are so many beautiful flowers to look at— all real and either preserved or dried. I especially loved seeing the creative and unique arrangements. I was honestly overwhelmed and couldn’t decide, but Santiago was so helpful and patiently went through different options with me until I found something I was completely happy with.

With his help, I chose an arrangement in the shop that we tweaked just a bit, and it is absolutely beautiful. It’s so fun and unique and makes my eyes so happy. I am very much looking forward to coming back to Flor Keeps again and again in the future.

After an awful experience with the delivery driver (visible frustration, complete language barrier, seemingly aggressive behavior), I submitted an internal review to Flor Keeps. Within what seems like seconds, the owner, Santiago, called me to follow-up on my review. After explaining the situation in full, he reassured me that the driver is not employed by Flor Keeps, but by an outside delivery service. He further assured that this behavior is not how he wishes his company to be portrayed and banned the delivery driver from his website and future deliveries. Additionally, Santiago graciously invited me to visit his store to help me in person next time we place an order through Flor Keeps. I am extremely impressed by the amount of professionalism and kindness I received and will continue purchasing through this company in the future. 11/10 customer service!
