Soco halal — Restaurant in Austin

Does Halal taste better when its free? I will have to wait until the next time I visit this food truck to answer that question because tonight was the first time, and my meal was free. Google says they close at 1am, but I called to make sure they wouldn't close before I arrived. I was told they would close at 12:30am. I arrived at 12:13am and I saw that the window was closed. I spoke with the men in charge and was told that they thought the person who came by a little earlier was me and they sold everything. They told me not to worry, they would make the dish I wanted. I asked for the lamb on rice and received it free of charge. The portions are good relative to our current economy. The pictures they posted are accurate. Soco halal provides great customer service as well as great food. I definitely recommend you try this food truck...

This place is Incredible! I’ll go so far to say it is one of the best gyros I’ve ever had the world over, definitely up there!

I went here after Psych Fest at the far out lounge — I ordered an Uber and realized I was hungry, so I ran over to get something quick with 10 min arrival time approaching

Gentleman said he’s “got me” when I explained the situation and whipped one up on the fly. It was wonderfully hot, bursting with flavor, appeared to be homemade pita bread, with delicious sauce (I only wish I asked for more, I will next time)

Crazy enough — it was phenomenal the next day cold out of the fridge for my leftovers

Price is perfect, if it was too much higher I wouldn’t come back as much. Hopefully they can stick to that price...

Gus was the chef tonight. Their best seller soco chicken with rice and the combination plate. Ordered the soco chicken over rice and a chicken wrap total $23.72 no drinks. The food was prepared in less than 5 minutes. They did not disappoint and they're delicious to the point that we felt they were better than Pasha Mediterranean in San Antonio if you've ever been there...shhh! The reviews do not disappoint and even though the looks of this place could be deceiving (aka scary🤷‍♂️) don't let it stop you. The portion sizes are a tad small but for the price but it's Austin and the taste and authenticity makes up for it. Don't hesitate. Go give it a try you'll thank...
