HarperSage has become a closet staple. Full disclosure: I work there on Saturdays now because I have had the pleasure and honor of being a client-turned-employee.
Storytime: I recommend HarperSage to any and all women. I especially recommend HarperSage to any woman undergoing any huge transformation (it seems as if we all are). Specifically, I had a child during the pandemic and was feeling especially lost and that all my people and places that used to fulfill me - became things that needed me. Literally. I worked a lot from home as a photographer and was desperately seeking a place that I loved going and allowing myself to "come back alive."
When I stepped into HarperSage at their first pop-up location (next to Feathers vintage), their sage jumpsuit caught my eye. I loved it, tried it on and felt that my long torso was the issue. Meg, the owner, warmly chimed in: "I am happy to lower the inseam. We do custom complimentary alterations and you can come back in a few days and pick it up..." It floored me. When she made an accommodating, kind comment, I about broke down and cried. And realized in that moment that I wanted/needed someone to offer help without me asking for it. Which is what I feel like parenthood teaches you.
From then on, I've been an avid supporter. Just from that magic spark of an interaction. I didn't want to ask for help and somehow Meg could read from my face that the issue was an easy fix. It also caused me to reflect that if I was in any other big box brand, alterations would A) be an additional cost or B) be something I would have to locate and source myself C) another hurdle + branch of a project.
I like to attribute that the combination of regaining sleep, having spontaneous dinner with friends and my routine of coming into HarperSage on a routine basis is how "Julia got her groove back."
It's that recipe along with the vibrancy and appreciation of the designs, colors, the sensory attune-ment of the store setup, along with Meg, herself, that makes me a huge fan and admirer.
If you want my fave items: of course the sage utility jumpsuit, the sage adventure dress, the sage tour de play shirt, the harper courtyard tank and pant set, + the quilted bag.
HarperSage pieces are the ones I get the most compliments and...
Read moreZERO STARS... WHAT A SCAM! I know I should have done a bit more research about this company but I fell hard for their scam, truly believing I was supporting a Canadian company. Harper and Sage claim very clearly on their website that they are a Toronto based company in operation since 2016. They have highly priced goods discounted (this is what tricked me the most) and when I was ordering, they said they ship Canada Post. Upon submitting my order, I received a tracking number the next day and surprise surprise, it's coming from China. I received my order and it is extremely poorly made and very cheap fabric. I placed my order in good faith as the website also assures 14 day return/refund policy which they DO NOT stand behind. They claim shipping charges are too expensive. Indeed they are to China, but they claim to be located in Toronto. Instead they offer store credit of $15 on a $60 order. Absolutely ridiculous!!! I received lie after lie about how they are in Toronto. Comments on a YouTube video and on Reddit about them reveal numerous others who have been scammed by this company, either receiving crap quality items looking nothing like what they ordered, or receiving nothing at all ever. I just want to warn others, if you are wanting to support actual Canadians, this site ain't it. They're extremely deceitful about who they are and where they are, they aren't just shipping from China to save money, they have nothing to do with Canada. Lesson learned, and I hope this post can help others not...
Read moreI cannot say enough good things about this company. The clothing is unique and incredibly comfortable. The quality of the clothing is amazing and ethically sourced. The designs are very thoughtful, I was particularly impressed by The Continental Pant because the waist is adjustable. My postpartum heart was overjoyed to have pants that could adjust with my ever-changing body. Most importantly, I was taken aback by the kindness of Meg, the designer/owner. My husband purchased a gift certificate for me over the holidays and Meg treated him so well and helped him find some gifts to go along with my gift card. My husband has shopped at some of my favorite local spots for me in the past and he is almost always ignored or not treated well. Today I had my own experience at Harper Sage with Meg. I was shopping with my squirmy toddler and Meg treated her with as much kindness as she did with me. She brought my child colors and paper and helped keep her busy so I could try on clothing. Meg also asked me personal questions about my style and how I typically like to dress so she could help me find pieces that I could pair with what I already have at home. She was very genuine and considerate and for that I will tell every person to support Harper Sage. I felt seen and confident as I tried on clothing. I will add shopping with a toddler in a postpartum body can be a challenge, but today was one of the more positive experiences I have had as a new mom and I can’t wait to wear my cute new outfits....
