I am definitely the type of person who always does my research and looks at reviews. MIA aesthetics has mixed reviews, however, a good amount of positives. That being said, I chose to go with this place and having experienced the whole process I must say, I suggest you do more research and go with a more reputable surgical facility. My surgery date 7.22.24 with Dr. Kashyap.
MIA aesthetics does a great job of getting you through the door with offering specials and discounts on surgeries, however, as for the surgical portion and attention to patients, they fall short. The facility is a bit crowded when you arrive. The front desk and nurses are mostly pleasant, however, I encountered a nurse on the day of my surgery that told me she was unable to help me remove some of my ear piercings that were stuck (she told me it's not their job to help) and that if I couldn't do it myself that they wouldn't do the surgery (this is after I had paid everything up front). I ignored this and thought maybe she was having a bad day.
While you are waiting and being prepped for surgery, you do meet the anesthesiologist who gives you the run down on what to expect (this was generally an ok synopsis pre-surgery). The doctor comes in shortly after, I went with Kashyap. He is friendly, however, does not give you an appropriate explanation of the procedure or ask you what you have in mind or anything of that nature. It's a very superficial interaction. He comes in, marks up your body, nurses take pictures, and that's it. I may have spent a total of 5 minutes with him from pre-surgery to the moment I woke up after surgery.
I landed up in the hospital emergency room one hour after my liposuction procedure. I had passed out twice, was bleeding excessively, very low blood pressure, and was in excruciating pain (the pain is to be expected after surgery). However, I did not expect to land up in the hospital almost immediately after my procedure. I was there for 8 hours until I was stable enough to be sent home.
MIA aesthetics does not take the time to ensure you are stabilized post-op. You are there post-op for less than an hour. The nurses pop their heads in to see if you've woken up from the anesthesia; they barely look at your vitals or ask how you are feeling. Dr. Kashyap popped his head in for 2 seconds to see if I was awake from the anesthesia. He did not spend any time with me or follow up on my vitals with the nurses, really nothing at all which is unfortunate as the surgeon who conducted my liposuction procedure. I see it as somewhat negligent for failing to conduct a proper follow-up with a post-op surgical patient. Especially after explicitly explaining to the doctors that I had never had surgery or been under anesthesia, and was worried about how my body may react. I expected more from the surgical team at MIA aesthetics.
Dr. Kashyap was made aware of my emergency room visit. I saw him the next day for post-op. He was very nonchalant about the unfortunate experience that I had in the emergency room immediately after the surgery that HE had conducted. He simple stated "I told you that might happen." In reality, he told me that I may pass out after surgery if i tried to get up from bed too fast or after releasing the pressure from taking off my surgical garment (this is normal). He DID NOT mention that I may land up in the emergency room immediately after surgery due to my almost immediate de-stabilization following my procedure (he should have taken this seriously). This is NOT normal.
Lastly, I find it important to note that when you are released from the MIA surgical facility...their wheelchair ramp where you get picked up from is right next to their dumpsters and bio-hazard receptacles. Very sketchy and off-putting.
Overall, a disappointing and scary experience. The only positive I will say, is that their massage therapist that does manual drainage massages post-op is fantastic and does exactly what you need post-op. My results so far are, OK. Not botched by any means, however, in this case....you get what you pay...
Read moreI have my surgery scheduled for June 2021. My experience thus far with the Mia Aesthetic staff has fallen well below my expectations (which werenât unrealistic- industry standard expectations). After booking my surgery I was assigned a âconciergeâ and he called me right away to go through all the detailed information. He sent several emails with documents to sign which I returned almost immediately. A few days later he called me at 5:45AM, which is not only illegal, but completely unprofessional. When answering I told him âNo. Not right now.â Mind you, I was asleep so wasnât really talking in complete sentences, and hung up the phone. He then called right back immediately and said âPlease donât hang up!â Again, I told him âNo! Not right now.â and hung up. I later emailed him asking what he was calling for and why he was calling at that hour. He apologized and stated it was because of the time zone difference (which is not my problem- he should be checking that information prior to making phone calls) I asked him to please note my file to only call between the hours of 8am-5pm CST. He agreed and stated he would note my file. I had to then ask him again WHY was he calling to begin with and he stated there was an additional document that needed to be signed. He said it would be emailed shortly and I agreed to get it back to him ASAP. Of course, I never received it. So, it couldnât have been that urgent, in my opinion. I then reached back out to him a few days later asking for the document and he finally sent it at that time. The following week he called me at almost 8PM, which was very irritating considering I already had this conversation with him. I was not able to answer the phone call so he then sent me a text message right after that did not make any sense. I emailed him asking why he was calling/texting and what was needed. But again, I never heard back. About a week later I emailed him asking if it would be possible to move UP my surgery date. He responded and advised me that I would need to pay $500 to move my date. I explained to him that during my initial booking I was advised the $500 fee would only apply if I moved my surgery date OUT, not up. He stated he was only following the rules and that I could take it up with the manager if Iâd like. Which I did. Unfortunately, my experience from that point on was not any better. It took over a week for the manager to get back to me and when she did she explained there was a miscommunication but that she could move my surgery date up with no charge, however, a sooner date is not available. I went on to explain my experience with my concierge and requested someone new be assigned to my file. Again, no response. I then sent a follow-up email explaining that I would like to make a payment and asked if a new concierge had been assigned to me so that I could make the payment with them. She finally responded and stated that I can call the mainline to make a payment and that a new concierge had been assigned. That was it! No name, contact info, nothing. She ended her email with âPlease let me know if you have any other questions.â To which I responded âYes, can you please give me their contact information? Will they be contacting me by email? Will they be calling me?â I never received a response to that email, however, I did receive an email from the new assigned concierge. Because of my poor experience thus far, I have been doing some additional research online. Reading reviews on Facebook, watching experiences on YouTube, and I am absolutely terrified. Everything that I have experienced so far; appears to happen to almost all clients!! To make matters worse, several Mia dolls are having to undergo a ârevisionâ or a SECOND BBL procedure with another doctor. At this point, I am considering losing my deposit and going with someone else. I do not feel comfortable at all proceeding with my surgery with Mia Aestheticâs. I URGE you, do your research before booking with Mia Aesthetics. I thought I did mine, however, more and more clients are now speaking out on...

I, Whittney Guidry, have made several attempts to reconcile how disappointed I have been in the services received from Mia Aesthetics. I am not sure where I went wrong. I did thorough research on the surgery itself and even more on the physician I would choose. Because Mia Aesthetics has an office in Miami in addition to extensive experience, I was sure the service and surgery would be stellar to say the least. Unfortunately, after payments were given until now, the negligence, communication and lack of customer service from staff and physicians at the office have gone from awesome to nonexistent.
The main concerns were the recovery facility and interaction with the physician and staff after surgery. Though your office has intentionally denied association with the recovery facility you all specifically recommended, I would not have willingly gone to a place as careless as they were during my stay. They fed myself and others food high in sodium, which is strictly prohibited for anyone that has had lipo and a tummy tuck. The person who prepared the food also, supposedly, took care of patients which was odd since she nor any other staff were trained nor certified to do so. Staff at the facility wrapped the abdominal binder too tight, causing my skin to die according to Dr. Charepoo. This is the reason for your office not admitting to an association with this facility. To make matters worse, allowing a dog to freely roam the premises is awfully unsanitary.
I have had to visit outside facilities to rectify mistakes the physician made. When visiting facilities other than Mia Aesthetics, the nurses and physicians agreed of the medical negligence I have received after the surgery. Being informed of having dead skin was heart wrenching!. But to have the presiding physician cut out the dead skin and tissues then leaving a hole in my stomach added to the anxiety and emotional distress unimaginable brought on by the situation. Not only did the doctor pack the wound advising me to see a wound care specialist, the wound wasn't completely cleaned, leaving me with dead skin tissue. When concerned family members asked for other resolutions, they were told nothing could be done. I was given a prescription for a wound vac, extremely questionable, and sent on my way. I was also informed by the wound care specialist that the wound occurred because the sutures were too tight, causing the fat in the area to die. To add to all the emotional distress the financial department made mistakes regarding my account and now have me paying more than what I agreed to pay monthly. I have contacted them multiple times to fix the issue and I keep getting the runaround, when they are the ones who made the mistake. Now I am stuck paying a monthly bill that I should not be paying and no one seems to want to do anything about it.
The reason for my communication is to inform you of my contact with malpractice attorneys as well as my future posts on social media giving reviews on your facility recommendations, staff and physicians. Others should be warned of your blatant disregard for ethical practices within your business and avoid such a cavalier attitude toward medical discrepancies of your patients. This will save any potential customers from additional doctor's fees, hospital visits, emotional distress and remorse from getting the surgery as a result of negligence from operating physicians. Lastly, I'll be filing a complaint with the State Medical Board against the doctor due to unprofessional services and incompetent practices.
I hoped we would have come to a resolution before taking action but your poor communication leaves me no choice. I won't assume this has happened before but I will make sure no one experiences what I have at Mia Aesthetics. People considering this surgery should know the pain and suffering they may face other than recovery...
