We truly cannot recommend this store enough. From the second we walked in to the second we swiped our card and made our purchase, we truly felt like we were at home.
To preface, we are about to close on our first home and we were looking to invest in a high quality sectional that would last for many years to come - through lazy “couch potato” days, our cat’s lunatic antics, friend/family visits, karaoke couch parties, you name it, this couch will see it. I had scoped out the website online and thought I had a pretty solid idea of the couches we might be interested in (the SoCo and the Fluffy.) In person, both of these are amazing couches in their own unique ways, but we were very surprised by the pull that the Mesa had on us from the moment we laid eyes on it. I had scrolled by this sofa quickly on the website not thinking anything of it because it looked quite similar to our current couch from a mainstream furniture dealer that I cannot wait to get rid of. But in person, OMGGGG the Mesa is stunning. It’s such a substantial and deep sectional, it just demands attention. We plopped down for a nice while, chatting and imagining our life with a sofa this comfortable and huge, joking that we’d have to launch snacks across the sofa to each other in order to share, or make tin can phones to hear each other from across the room. During this time, our little Couch Angel Cassie was floating around sprinkling her fairy dust and doing anything but putting pressure on us for a sale, which was completely opposite from the experiences we had at other more “mainstream” stores. We kept looking around for a while and tested out the sofas that we actually went intending to see, and although they were all great, we just knew in our souls that the Mesa was right for us. Problem was, the configuration in the store wasn’t conducive to our space. But alas, in comes Cassie to totally immerse herself in our vision, and help us come up with a solution that is perfect for our space. From choosing the right couch style (she previously owned a Mesa and highly recommended it), to the configuration, to the fabric, she guided us the whole way through, asking all the right questions to make sure we would end up with everything we dreamed of and more. And of course we did get more - we ended up buying a stunning dining table set, too. (When I say this place has nothing but wall-to-wall BANGERS !!!)
Anyway, we ended up walking out the first day, not making a purchase. We wanted to think on it overnight because this purchase is a big, albeit reasonable, investment. We were still juggling between going the “budget-friendly” route or the long-term investment route which if you know you know, is not the easiest decision to make. We left ACP feeling no pressure or awkwardness from the staff - they showed every step of the way that they understand how important making the right choice is when spending this type of money on furniture. Probably needless to say, but we could not stop thinking about this gorgeous furniture, and immediately went right back the next day to finalize our purchase, which was made easy because Cassie had saved a quote for us with all our specificities in their system. We decided last minute (an hour before closing) that we might want to buy an ottoman to go with our sectional and she literally moved huge furniture pieces so we could get a clear visual of the combo before deciding. We are soooo excited to receive our pieces, and this experience has been an absolute pleasure, way more so than I have ever had when buying furniture anywhere else.
Thank you so much to Cassie and the rest of the staff for your hard work, immaculate vibes, and to ACP owners for allowing your staff the freedom to show up as themselves and not forcing them to treat customers like a walking pocketbook, because it truly makes all the difference for the buyer. If you’re looking to buy a big piece of furniture, or even a coffee table, lamp, heck even their throw pillows are cute, we HIGHLY recommend hitting up ACP (Ask for Cassie!)...
Read moreEdit to respond to owner’s response below: I am happy to share screenshots of my one and only conversation with your customer service rep. that easily disputes your claim below. Either you are completely lying or you were misinformed. I really hope it’s the latter. 1. Coverage details were verbal at time of purchase and nothing else was provided to me to back up your claim about buttons. As stated originally, I should have requested a copy of the warranty terms but was overly trusting and naive. 2. No one said I was out of the manufacture’s warranty period, but why should that matter? I paid for a four year warranty through YOU. 3. What multiple accommodations are you speaking of? You tried to sell me more cushions than I was requesting and offered that sale up like you were doing me a favor. 4. YOU did not explore untufted options. I simply requested if the cushions could be replaced by untufted ones and they said I could purchase untufted ones. This whole text conversation was done in under an hour and consisted of five responses from your customer service rep. I would not constitute that as a significant amount of time “working with me to find a resolution.” I stand by my one star review as a fair warning to anyone considering a purchase from you. If they want the extra warranty, they need to request a copy of your warranty terms before getting upsold and so they can make a truly informed decision. I never would have purchased it if I’d known buttons weren’t covered and it was only for accidental damage. Or I would have purchased the untufted style so I wouldn’t stress about buttons.
Original review: Purchased an absurdly overpriced couch and warranty from them in June of 2021. The salesperson sold me on the warranty explaining that over the next four years they would repair ANY damage, as many times as I’d like, for free. He used a dog getting mud stains on it as an example (not that that was a selling point for me in particular, it just sticks out in my mind). Stupid me for not requesting a warranty policy in writing to verify what he said was true, because now they want me to pay for new cushions with their explanation being that a) they don’t cover broken buttons (they’re tufted cushions and these were literally the first thing to fail like a week after delivery. Suckers popped off left and right but I thought whatever, no reason to call in for warranty just yet, I’d wait until bigger damage); and b) the warranty only covers “accidental” damage. My reason for calling in was because one of the cushions’ seams is ripping apart. I didn’t purposely rip the seam, so I’m not sure why that isn’t covered either, but I digress.
My advice if you still decide to buy from here: don’t get tufted cushions and ask for a warranty policy to review BEFORE you agree to anything. Then be ready for them to deny the warranty service you request and prepare to spend more money out of pocket or have an ugly, buttons-missing, seams-ripped couch until you can save up for another one from...
Read moreExtremely unhappy with the treatment here. It has been FOUR months and we have still not received our couch and I have to personally reach out to our sales associate to ask for updates when the couch has not arrived when they said it would.
We had a wonderful experience in the store when we were looking to buy a couch, but after purchase has been a nightmare.
The full story: We placed our order at the beginning of August for a couch. We were told the timeline was approx 2 months. We went into the store on the weekend and they told us they would place the order Monday morning and would give us confirmation. At the end of August, I followed up since we had never received this confirmation. The sales associate told us our couch would be arriving at the beginning of September. I was so pleased that it was going to be arriving sooner than expected. On Sept 14th, I messaged our sales associate again just to follow up and they responded saying the eta was now 10/16 due to COVID delays. So 10/11 I followed up asking if the ETA was still 10/16 and we were told yes we are getting the truck in then and i will let you know when it arrives so we can set up delivery. On 10/18, I called our sales associate as we had not received any communication about setting up a delivery time and we were told our shipment was in fact NOT on the truck and they issued us a delivery refund and said the couch was going to leave California on 10/31 instead. On 11/4 I again asked for an update on the order and I was told now its not coming until the end of Nov. Well here we are a month later... still NO couch!
Be aware of the nightmare it is to receive your order from this company when you place your purchase. This may all be because of COVID and the fires in California, but the communication needs to improve dramatically between the manufacturing company, Austin Couch potatoes, and the clients. If I was told initially, it was going to take 4 months, I still would have ordered this couch because I understand this year has been hard on everyone. The frustration comes from the constant back and forth and lack of communication.
EDIT: I called the manager prior to posting this, left a voicemail and never received any call back. Yet an hour after posting this review, I received a confirmation saying my couch was getting...
