My mom, daughter, and I made it a must-do on our Austin trip, and let me tell you, it absolutely lived up to the hype! From the moment we arrived, the vibrant energy was contagious.
We loved that the trail was easily accessible with well-maintained stairs, making the ascent enjoyable for all of us, regardless of age or fitness level. It was so inspiring to see people of all generations out there, embracing the beautiful outdoors and prioritizing their well-being. The climb itself was invigorating, and as we reached the top, the panoramic view simply took our breath away.
The city sprawled out before us, a tapestry of urban life nestled amidst the rolling hills. The air felt noticeably fresher and cleaner up there, a welcome respite from the city bustle. We took our time soaking it all in, snapping photos, and just enjoying the shared experience.
It was more than just a hike; it was a memory we created together. This spot is a true gem, a perfect blend of natural beauty and accessible activity. Whether you're a seasoned hiker or just looking for a refreshing outdoor escape, this place is a must-visit in Austin. We can't...
Read moreParking is on the side of the road. All over the parking lot there is broken window glass and it’s for a reason! There’s been so many reported robbers, people are going into your cars and stealing items, even tho they have the “police security camera service” they don’t care. I would be super careful and keep eyes out on your vehicle as my car was broken into this past weekend I was there and they took out belongings! This all happened in as little as 15 minutes, they are watching you! They really need to consider having a cop or security driving around to make sure peoples cars are safe! Once you are up there viewing the water it’s beautiful but not worth it especially since my car was broken into! Please be super careful being out there as this isn’t the first time these thieves have done this! Cops mentioned there has been non stop reported robberies! It’s surprising that it’s such a nice rich gated home area but this is happening! This is very disappointing and the city really needs to considered a security system so this doesn’t...
Read moreCrystal Beach SUCKS, as does all of Galveston because the water tingles & makes your skin itch. Also, so not the closest beach, which is Mustang & St Jo islands. BUT Google tells people to drive there via I-35 to I-37, to Corpus [thru the worst route into CC, as in, the wastelands of refineries]. Then they want you to drive on over to the islands. Except they'd probably "think" in their nerdy bot way, that North Beach in Corpus would be a great spot. Just like everywhere in Galveston, the water in Corpus Christi Bay tingles and makes you itch. Strange occurence, right? Not really, given that Galveston is just below the Houston ship channel [POLLUTION!] & the CC ship channel runs thru Corpus Christi Bay [POLLUTION!] Also, don't fall for that "salt water swimming" in Rockport -- nasty to the nth. Yes, I grew up between CC & Padre & my family was at some beach at least 30 times a year, every year. Spent my 17th summer living w/family in a 3BR, 2 bath trailer on Galveston beach, never wanting to know where our...
