I brought a mixer into Mr. E’s electronics on December 14 2018 due to an issue where phantom power wasn’t working. I was asked by the entrepreneur extraordinaire himself Mr. E, when I needed it by, and I told him January 14, I needed it for a show. When I called on January 14 2019 they said the mixer wasn’t ready. I then waited until Feb 14 until I called again. No answer. I called every day (12 times in total) I started to think that maybe the business had shut down, so decided to take the 45 min drive to see if it was ready. I walked in the front door and the front desk worker was sitting in front of the cash register. I had called 3 times that day so I was a little perplexed. She fed me some grade A cow manure about how their phones don’t work. I proceeded to call while standing there and the phone began to ring in front of both of us. I then asked to speak to Mr. E. She said he wasn’t in, but provided me with a number (I’m assuming her personal cell phone number) To contact her directly. I then contacted her via text for the next month. This texting rodeo began on Feb 24, I was told over and over again I would be called by the repair man, or the owner, but this never happened. On March 12 2019 I called the place several times with no answer and went to visit the establishment; and door was locked they wouldn’t open up. On March 14 I texted the front door girl and threatened to call SAPD, I had thought at this time they had sold my mixer, or were trying to keep it or something. I then received a quote on March 21 2019 of $277 more than I paid for the mixer. I asked for a discount due to the extraordinary lack of respect and 2 month delay with no information whatsoever, and I was told I would be given a 20 dollar discount. I then texted the front door girl again asking if I could come pick up the mixer as I wanted to take it to another repair shop. She said I could come pick it up next Wednesday as it was in pieces and needed to be put back together. I went to visit the shop that day minutes later, as I was in the area with my wife and lo and behold the mixer was sitting right there next to the counter not in pieces, even though they had told me minutes before that it was in pieces via text. I berated them for lying to me and treating their customers like dung beetles and spoke to Mr. E directly. He accepted no responsibility and argued with me for 15 plus minutes plus. I have literally never encountered such hostility in a retail environment. He was extremely rude and wouldn’t budge on the price. So basically he fixed my mixer without my permission without ever giving me a quote, after 3 months of no info, and only after I threatened with SAPD, and then tried to hold it hostage unless I paid the exorbitant $277, and lied about the mixer because he didn’t want me to come pick it up when it was already fixed, but he also didn’t want to tell me that he had already fixed it, because it’s such a shady way to do business. We ended up agreeing on $150 which is still too much. But he was threatening to “rebreak” the mixer if I didn’t pay. Bottom line, this shop is full of criminals. Go somewhere else, your psyche depends on it. I own a recording studio in town, and my customers will also be hearing about...
Read moreWords can’t describe how poor of an experience this was. I took my amp stack to this business for a standard repair. In all, it took half a year (about 6 months) for this business to tell me they couldn’t fix my problem, returning my amp in a state that was worse than how I gave it to them (it is now unplayable). The work done and management can be best described as negligent, incompetent, and disappointing.
I paid $80 for the diagnostic fee, and it took about a month and a half for them to actually begin working on the amp. They eventually returned it to me and I payed $90 for the labor. When I took it home, it was clear that the problem was in fact not fixed. After returning it so that they could fix it under their 90-day warranty, I waited another few months. Eventually, they told me that they couldn’t fix it and had to order a new amp. When it arrived, the problem STILL persisted. I finally asked for a refund. Ultimately, my patience and kindness was rewarded with disappointment and frustration.
Communication was extremely poor. I’ve consistently been the person that’s had to reach out or go to the location to find some kind of update or resolution. At times, their line would be down, or the phone would simply keep ringing. Texts would be ignored. They would often be vague and distant.
The owner was extremely rude and dismissive. While barely being involved in the process, he had the audacity to antagonize me when I brought up the possibility of a refund. He suggested that I file a complaint to the BBB and left the room. The only saving grace is that ownership is being transferred to his son, who was more reasonable and respectful. He gave me a refund, but it doesn’t make up for the time and opportunities wasted.
My band’s progress has been significantly delayed due to this business’ negligence and failure to provide a transparent and reliable service. If your livelihood depends on music, avoid this place at all costs. A complete waste of...
Read moreHad a weird experience with these people. I sent in my guitar to get fixed (the neck was warped) they took it in and gave me an 80 dollar inspection fee (it also gets discounted off during the repair fee). I left my guitar with them and called them back after a week or two and it turns out their repair guy broke his arm so it was gonna be a while before it got fixed. I was in no rush so I didn't mind it. After a few months they called me and told me that they can get to work on repairing it and gave me an estimate (the 80 dollars was removed from the total). I agreed to the price. They then contacted me when it was over and asked me to come pick up my guitar. I rarely get days off when they are actually open (a nice man contacted me their hours), so they patiently held on to my guitar longer than I care to admit. Picked it up and was completely fixed WITH new strings. They do good work! A bit over priced, but their quality of work is great and the skinny boy at the front was like the ideal state of great manners and customer service. 4/5 cause of the arm broken thing (tho I was told they had to fire that guy, might explain some of the other reviews) but hey life happens and I didn't blame them for that. Also side note the parking space is pretty small so big...
