We just had a lasertag party there for a 10 year old girl. The experience was fantastic comparatively.
On a five star scale, I'd rate most teenage workers a 1 or 2. I'd rate most adults a 2. I have pretty high standards. So when I say that our teenage party coordinator (I forget her name but in case the owner is reading: long dark hair and ran our 1:30 party on Sat, May 28, 2011) was a solid 4 that means a lot. She was friendly, helpful, and extremely attentive. I never had a problem finding her when she wasn't in the room and she was quick to answer all of our questions or help when needed. I was impressed.
The lasertag area was well done. Black lights gave it a surreal feel, and colored jackets for team play made it a good cooperative experience. They had plenty of sniper positions and walls set in a mazelike pattern allowing movement to play a proper role. And the fog machine gave the experience a nice touch. I've never done lasertag before so I don't know if it's normal that you sometimes have to remain on target for a few seconds for it to pickup, but on 1 out of 4 shots that was the case. The room wasn't huge, but it was more than I expected for a bowling alley.
My biggest complaint is that they didn't get our names so the lasertag scorecards were mostly useless. This is too bad as it would have been a fun way to work a little discussion about math and discussions into the evening activities with the kids. Besides, my partner and I want to know who thwomped the other the most thoroughly. ;)
They had some rules they were willing to bend to accommodate us, and they were pretty laid back about making sure it was a good time. Pizza was included and the kids seemed happy with it. They had candles for the cake after we forgot them, which I really appreciated. And most of the gaming and bowling area seemed clean and well taken care of. I dealt with one or two other workers there and there was a mix; some of the other teenage staff seemed singularly unimpressive, but as the staff we worked with the most were great our experience wasn't negatively impacted too much.
All in all I'd recommend. There's certainly room for improvement, especially by my standards, but from what I've seen of others' expectations of businesses Legacy Lanes would be a definite five-star...
Read moreThis ENTIRE experience was terrible, from the moment we walked in to the moment we left, we were treated like we were an inconvenience to every single person we came into contact with. My husband and I met two other couples here on a Saturday night. I called ahead to see of we could reserve a lane in their 'boutique bowling' area and I was told it was first come first serve. When we arrived, we asked how long the wait was and were told there were parties at each lane and they wouldn't be over until after 11 pm and handed a pager. We were ok to wait, since there is a restaurant, full bar, and kareoke. We had terrible waitress service, since she was working the bar and waiting tables. The food was cold, wrong, and the kitchen couldnt even make a simple turkey club sandwich (which is on the menu). We NEVER got paged for a lane, even after checking in with the front desk twice, and lanes were open. When we finally had enough of being completely ignored, we handed in our pager and thanked the person at the front desk for such terrible service, to which he rolled his eyes in my face. When I asked him if I could speak to a manager, he said he was the MANAGER! Enough said!!!! I will never waste another penny or hard earned night out at this trash filled...
Read moreIve been to this place twice now and both experiences were awful. The first time was a few years back we tried to call and reserve a spot and they said just come on in we don't reserve we got lots of spots open. When we got there all lanes were filled and we were told we should have reserved a spot. We went again just recently and everything went wrong from the start. We had a booked time with a party of 8 and we didn't get our lanes until 30 minutes after our booked time. We ordered food and we didn't expect much for bowling alley food but it was awful. One of the members in my party ordered pizza and didn't get it for 45mins so we ask when will we receive it and they forgot to make our food. The cooks response was Whoops. Once we went to leave we noticed a line of cars blocking all parking spots in front of the building. Thankfully we were just out of ranch of the line of people illegally parked so we didn't get blocked in but all handicapped parking spots and other vehicles were all blocked in by the lack of parking and people parking where ever. I suggest if you ever get blocked in you call to get them towed. I will never go back and will make sure everyone knows how poorly run...
