Well, I love libraries and think they are vitally important to our society and culture. So can't give this less than 5 stars. However, just so you know, I have reserved books not available for the last three years and am always 156th or higher in line to receive my selections. In most cases, I never do come up in the cue. So .... as a library, it seems something, like priorities, are a bit off target. On the other hand, Enoch has amazing programs and speakers if you are lucky enough to snag tickets

Read moreOverall the staff and surroundings are nice. There was one lady who seemed to be was VERY Gestapo and "Karen" like. Every little thing my son did she was all over him. Having the mask all the way up I get but it was just he and I at the table, we are both vaccinated WITH CARDS, and he couldn't do speech tutoring and breathe with it over his nose. Not only did she border on what felt like harassment for every little thing (he ate two chips) but she also approached very aggressively. I hope it isnt because he was a black teen. We will never know because we wont be back. Enoch pratt on cathedral is much more spacious...
Read moreI lived in Hampden for a year and this was one of my favorite little places to work. Even though it looks small from the outside, there are plenty of desks, free wifi, and computers to use if you don't bring your own. Library cards are free if you're a local.
The library is part of the bigger Enoch Pratt library system. They have a huge library of books if you don't see what you want on location. Holds get to the library quickly if there are no holds.
Parking is a little tricky - all street parking and no dedicated parking lot.
