I heard Grano Pasta Bar had great carbonara. We did not make a reservation and while parking in a lot a block away, we called and ask what was the wait time. We were told to come and there was no wait. We arrived around 6:26pm. We go to the restaurant and the hostess said the wait was 30 to 45 mins. She said the person upstairs answered the phone and gave wrong info. They took our info and told us the shop next door had wine tasting and they would call us when a table was ready. We went next door, chit chat with the two ladies and tasted the house wine. At 7:05pm, I went back to the restaurant. The hostess asked if we had given our number, i confirmed yes. She responded no tables were available. I went back next door then checked back in at Grano at 7:30pm. Still no table. She said she will call. Ok. In the meantimr we decided to look for another restaurant but given the time most were crowded with long waits. At 7:45pm, we were 3 blocks away and got a call. A table was ready, we said ok. We walked back. When we got to Grano, the hostess told us, she gave the table away because she thought we werent coming back. I walked out. I was starving and tired of the BS. When we got back to the car, which was parked a block away, we got a call from Grano Pasta Bar. We declined the call.
Fast forward two weeks later to Mar 21. I ordered to go, carbonara, meatballs and marinated alici which were described as anchovies in lemon olive oil. All were bad! The eggs in the carbonara was scrambled. Clearly whoever prepared the carbonara did not take the time to mind the dish while it was on the fire so the egg started to cook and coagulate. The anchovies were not marinated in lemon olive oil. It was super salty and there was a lemon wedge. Good quality anchovies should not be that salty. The meatballs were tasteless. All in all very...
Read moreI wanted to take a moment to share my recent dining experience where I had the pleasure of savoring truly amazing old school Italian cuisine. The flavors I encountered swept me away on a remarkable culinary journey, leaving me truly enchanted.
Allow me to start with the appetizer, which was nothing short of exceptional. The Calamari, prepared with a perfect blend of tenderness and crispness, was an absolute delight to the palate. Each bite revealed a burst of flavor that had me craving more. The chefs undoubtedly showcased their unparalleled expertise in this dish, which set the bar high for what was to come.
Moving on to the main course, I had the pleasure of indulging in their renowned Lasagna. From the moment this classic Italian dish was placed before me, I knew I was in for a treat. Layer upon layer of homemade pasta, succulent meat, and a perfectly balanced medley of cheeses created a symphony of flavors that left me longing for an additional bite. Each forkful melted in my mouth, revealing a true masterpiece that justified the restaurant's reputation for excellence.
The attention to detail in the culinary presentation was equally awe-inspiring. Impeccably fresh ingredients were evidently sourced, highlighting the commitment to maintaining the essence of authentic Italian cuisine. The ambiance of the restaurant itself only further enhanced the overall experience, exuding a warm and welcoming atmosphere that complemented the delightful flavors impeccably.
I would be remiss not to mention the outstanding service provided by the restaurant staff. Their professionalism, attentiveness, and knowledge of the menu added a sense of finesse to the entire dining affair, making it a truly...
Read moreOn April 23rd, my family and I stumbled upon Grano Pasta Bar after a long search for a good place to eat. We were in town to surprise my nephew for his birthday and needed somewhere quick, with no long waits. Grano Pasta Bar fit the bill perfectly.
Parking wasn't an issue; we lucked out and found a spot right in front of the restaurant. Inside, the ambiance was cozy with wine bottles lining the walls, creating a warm atmosphere. We were greeted warmly by Katie, who provided excellent service throughout our visit. Despite the restaurant having a few other groups, we felt well attended to.
The food was exceptional. My sister loved the lasagna, rating it a perfect 10 for its cheesiness. My niece, who's picky, still enjoyed her spaghetti with meatballs and shrimp, giving it an 8 out of 10. My mom and nephew both ordered the penne vodka with chicken and couldn't finish their plates—they rated it 10/10 for its creamy sauce. I tried the ravioli with mushroom, also a 10/10 for its flavors.
We started with calamari, which was cooked to perfection, leaving us impressed with every bite. Katie even took a picture of our family, capturing a perfect birthday moment for my nephew.
The atmosphere was lively and inviting, with great music adding to the experience. It was clear that Grano Pasta Bar values both food quality and customer experience. The prices were reasonable, and the wine selection, including a memorable Moscato, complemented the meal perfectly.
In conclusion, Grano Pasta Bar exceeded our expectations with delicious food, warm service, and a fantastic ambiance. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. Special thanks to Katie for making our...
