I stumbled upon this yarn store on google and made the trip to check it out. I have to say this was a wonderful experience! Melissa was amazing and helped show me around the store and encouraged me to touch/squish all the yarns!! I managed to find yarn to finish my project with and many other yarns for other projects. They carry local brands of yarns as well! One of the yarns that I was most excited about is an art yarn by @oonamoth. They also had so many accessories for crochet and knitting alike! I found new stitch markers for crochet that I’m so in love with!!! As for other services, they do offer yarn winding (for free for yarn that you buy there and yarn that you bring in for a small fee). The yarn here is really high quality and not your average craft store yarn but with that, it’s not cheap. I would say be prepared to spend 100$ easily. The location the store is at is perfect!!! It’s on a corner of downtown Hampden and has street parking. As someone who stresses out when having to drive in downtown Baltimore, this was a cakewalk to drive around. Nearby is also a ton of restaurants as well! Overall, this was an amazing experience and would encourage you to...
Read moreThe owners are as warm & colorful in personality as the yarns. Extremely knowledgeable and willing to order things in for you that are hard to find that they may not stock. (In my case, suede soles for knit shoes.) It was holiday time & there were homemade marshmallows & something warm to drink and, I believe, participation in something the Hampden businesses were doing together. Exotic yarns and embroidery silks and all the gadgets one could want as well as some artisans' jewelry and beads and other little gifty-items make this store a great stop to find a unique little gift(s) for family, friends, or yourself with reasonable prices for exceptional products and services. I'm not positive, but there might even be some classes available. Check that by visiting! You'll enjoy. If you can, go at a slightly off-hour to enjoy the knowledge of the staff without a holiday or prime time crowd, because this is the type of store where every client has a question for the proprietor. Bring your personality...
Read moreI happened across this place on the way to Atomic Books, and it seems I'm not the only one! The reviews have already said it: smaller shop but excellent use of space, surprising variety, and a fun atmosphere. Everyone in the store had a smile on their face. The staff was extraordinarily welcoming and they know their stock. Two particular things really made the experience great for me: first, being a dude, they welcomed me into the store straightaway without looking at me like I was lost or ignoring me altogether. Second, a good portion of their stock is locally sourced, or at least from right across state lines, even down to the local artist that hand-crafts those outstanding...
