We love the zoo. Both of the kids get so excited when we say we are going there. My youngest who has CP really likes that the whole area is very accessible to him using his walker. I love that he can walk right up to the areas to look at the animals. We got a membership this year and will hopefully be back often.

Thoroughly enjoyed visiting the penguins at the Mayland Zoo! We went as part of a field trip and it was a great experience. The habitats and animals were very well cared for and HEALTHY. The zoo keepers were great at teaching, and interacting with us and answering questions too.

This is a really cool penguin area. It’s really fun watching them swim around and the theming of their enclosure being based on a little harbor is really clever. If you’re at the Maryland zoo you will definitely wanna check this out.

If you or your child loves penguins, this is a great attraction to check out. There are usually about 50 or more penguins out hopping around, swimming, etc. A couple times each day they do a feeding, with a volunteer staff member narrating, sharing facts, and answering questions. You can also go into the penguin education center that's right behind it and learn additional facts, and watch the penguins swim from glass below...
