We love Blue Pit as a restaurant and bar, however they did an even better job as the caterer for our wedding! We considered BBQ for our wedding meal because it's good and also more affordable than some of the other food types. We also wanted to support our local Baltimore community, so we made an appointment to talk with Cara at Blue Pit. We only met with two other companies before our visit, and knew after talking to Cara that this was our perfect fit. Cara was so down to earth and easy to bounce ideas off of for the day-of. Anytime I had a question, her response was prompt and thoughtful. We needed an extra something here? No big deal, they got us. Concerns about this? Don't worry about it, we'll figure it out. Coffee? Yep. I think the exact words used were "we've got an industrial coffee maker that can service all of Ellicott City!" This extra service added AFTER we already signed a contract, by the way. Photo booth? Oh we've got one of those... When we discussed signature cocktails (which includes a large selection of craft beer, fresh squeezed juices, and house-made syrups) we came into the restaurant to try different drinks--1) they were all ears to hear what we wanted most and 2) the cocktails were unique and freaking DELICIOUS. For our day-of, the staff was so much fun and super friendly. There were two bartenders to take care of all of our guests who were wonderful. And I've lost count of how many people commented on how amazing the food and drinks were after the wedding (I believe the biggest raves were about the brisket, vinegar-style coleslaw, and home-made...

Came in on a Wednesday afternoon when it wasn't too busy. No one greeted us when we came in and we wanted to ask if we could just sit at one of the tables. We ended up just sitting at the bar.

I got the 3 meat plate and my fiancee got the 2 meat plate. All of the meat was dry, flavorless, and lukewarm. Between the 2 of us we had the ribs, sausage, pulled pork, and brisket. The sauces didn't help at all since they were pretty bland as well. The cornbread was also dry. I've heard people say they have great Mac and cheese, but it really just seems like something you'd get out of the frozen food section. The pickleback slaw seemed like a good idea but it tasted more like dry slaw mix with some vinegar on it.

The bartender that waited on us was attentive but none of the staff seemed friendly or inviting. For added weirdness, one of the bartenders was slicing up fruit right in front of us for most of the time we were there, even though there were plenty of open spaces at the bar where she could have done that without being awkwardly close to any customers.

Also, keep in mind that it's a whisky bar, which they have a good selection of, so don't go for their beer menu, which is lacking.

I'm torn between giving this place 1 or 2 stars. On one hand, our experience should not have been as bad as it was for how unbusy it was in there. On the other hand, maybe it's a decent place if you just go there for whisky and don't get any food. If you want good or at least just decent barbecue, there's plenty of other places you'd...

I’ve been looking for a barbecue place in Baltimore and I thought that I had come across the one I’d be spending my summers in. Unfortunately there was a lot to be left desired at this restaurant. Mac & cheese was great collard greens were good but a little too much vinegar for my taste. The pulled pork was a bit dry although seasoned fairly well but it was lukewarm as if the meat was made, not made to order. I thought that the food had come out a little too soon,Honestly it takes Mission barbecue a longer time to put together a meal than it did that which is what brought me initial pause. At the end of the meal although there was enough to take home I didn’t want to take away box. Once before I came here and got a couple bratz, got them Carry out style and once again they came out within moments of me pressing make order and they were also lukewarm. I also ordered a Whiskey neat which was better than my meal. The service was good the ladies were friendly and there was a young lady that had just started that day but you could never noticed. I would recommend ordering out at this location and putting it right in the microwave. It has the right stuff to be a five-star recommendation but sadly my separate experiences lead me to believe that...

So my husband looked this place up because he really wanted some bbq food… I should have grilled myself but I digress… first let’s start by saying the quantity and quality of the food is not worth the price we’ve had way better. In fact still have not found a place better but there in DC. But next I had ordered the 2 meat platter with the brisket and brats wurst my sides were the red chili coleslaw and greens. My husband had the 2 meat platter as well he ordered the pulled pork and chicken his sides were Mac and cheese and the beans. The beans was the best thing out of both of our dishes. My greens had to much vinegar taste to it. My slaw was not slawing both my brisket and brat was very bland unseasoned. My brisket was a little tender but very dry. My husband said the pulled pork and chicken was ok but had really no flavor. The Mac was ok but not too tasty either… basically we wasted our $50. We didn’t either bother eating the cornbread so don’t know what that taste like. But it came with no butter. What you see of my food is still what’s left I couldn’t. Don’t know if we will try again maybe it was just a bad night or the wrong cook. Not sure
