Love this trail. I often go here to get out in nature or exercise or to just spend some time alone. I also love lochiel county park which is half a mile down the road from here as well. I found a great little hide away next to a rolling river which show cases the old original beautiful bridges made of rocks. Its quite stunning and peaceful and just off the beaten path. Not hard to find at all. That is where i took the picture of this lovely frog. This is generally a safe place to go. Open from dawn to dusk. Love this little gem AND if you walk further up the traik towards Burr road and go onto memorial drive you will hit a little thrift shoppe to the left AND if youre interested in antiques you can always go straight up the same road to Unshredded Nostalgia the antique shop in barnegat on main street and visit me. All in all a lovely little trail to spend some peaceful time alone with nature or your family...

At least here in Barnegat there is a second rail trail that is left natural which is also shown in one of my photos. I assume that there used to be a side rail here that would allow trains to pass each other going in opposite directions. All in all it was a nice peaceful walk, met some people and a few other dogs. You can hear the traffic on route 9 in the distance. I definitely will come back and try this and other legs...

They both zipped by me and a family trying to safely walk with their kids in nature, pedal biking is cool by not a fan of this type...
