Hartley House Event Venue — Attraction in Batesburg-Leesville

I don't know where to begin!!!

I was fortunate enough to get married at Hartley House in October 2020. I'd talked to a lot of other venues, toured a lot of other venues, been over their paperwork and even signed on the dotted line for one...but then...Hartley House! The house itself is PHENOMENAL. I grew up going to that house with my grandmother (she was friends with the lady that lived there) and my heart was so happy to see that while the new owners brightened the place up the kept the integrity of the "old home." You can tell with the work that's been done and continues to be done that their heart is in the Hartley House. You also can't beat the price! The WHOLE venue for the WHOLE weekend! I mean, come on?! Tell me where you can do better!!

As for the owners, Laura & Glenn. They are worth renting the venue alone. They went above and beyond for us when we got married, ensuring we had everything we needed and we were comfortable at Hartley House. They were very responsive to any texts or calls and were always checking in leading up to the day of making sure everything was going smoothly. Working with Laura & Glenn didn't feel like working with venue owners, they made it feel more like working with friends I'd known my own life.

Finding a wedding venue was the hardest part of wedding planning, to the point that my husband and I felt like we were going to have to settle for the venue with the least amount of cons. All that changed when we toured the Hartley House. It was everything we wanted- history, charm, and a beautiful story. This was the only venue where I could see my wedding day happening as we toured. Crystal is one of the nicest people on the planet and has done a phenomenal job decorating the home in a way that honors its history while maintaining current style. This was the only venue we toured with a designated space for the groom/guys to get ready in, and the bridal suite is not only HUGE but also gorgeous. We weren't even out of the driveway before my husband said he wanted to get married there. Crystal was so easy to work with, answered all of my questions no matter how silly, and gave us an amazing recommendation for our rehearsal dinner. 5 stars is frankly not enough - I wish I could give 10 stars!!!! The Hartley House is one of the most incredible wedding venues in the Columbia area for its charm, functionality, and service. I am a wedding planner and The Hartley House is arguably my favorite venue to work at. The bridal suite and groom’s room are functional and spacious for the wedding party to get ready in. The downstairs of the house is STUNNING and a wonderful place for indoor aspects of a wedding. And the grounds are gorgeous with so many options for ceremony and reception spots. The lighting throughout the house is absolutely perfect, and a photographer’s dream for bright and beautiful photos throughout the wedding day. Last but not least, Crystal Mustard, the Owner of Hartley House, works so hard to make every couple feel loved and attended to throughout the wedding planning process. She is efficient with communication with all vendors and couples which means the world to me as a planner! And then when wedding day comes, she does everything she can to serve the couples and their families well. I can not recommend Hartley House enough to any bride out their looking for her perfect...
