UPDATE: I emailed the Museum and Ms. Diana Barnes got in touch with me to discuss the incident. I was pleasantly surprised. She was very cordial, friendly and kind. We were offered tickets to go back to Knock Knock and have a better experience. Great customer service with a well-prepared manager who appreciates constructive criticism. Thank you, Ms. Barnes. The museum is great and an excellent place to bring children of all ages. My 1 star is for the rude staff member that served us. We went to the museum on March 10th and the AC was not working. It was around 80 degrees outside, so you can imagine how hot it was inside the museum. Have we known the AC was not working, we would not have bought the hefty-priced tickets to get in the museum. 2 adults and 1 baby played for about 30 minutes and we were drenched in sweat. We go to the front desk to figure out what was going on and were simply ignored by staff and upon complaint, not even a rain check was offered. I don't mind paying 30 dollars to bring my baby to the museum, but the bare minimum I expect is for things to be functioning properly or to be warned prior to...
Read moreA Baton Rouge children's museum has been long awaited! The Knock Knock museum is beautifully structured with beautifully tailored play spaces. The basement level includes a Crawbaby area just for toddlers and infants. It also includes a construction zone, real tools, a Mississippi bridge, the entrance to the storybook climbing tower, a river boat, fitness activities, a bubble station, and a veterinarian's office.
First floor includes the beautiful storybook tree surrounded with books for all interests, a bank teller vacuum tube, big checkers, a car garage, a car wash, an area to go fishing, a dance hall, grocery store, and arts and building areas.
There is also a backyard area. This contains various outdoor activities or kids of all ages. Hopefully, they will continue to improve this area to explore water-based activities since it is very hot here for most of the year.
In addition to the backyard area, other ideas for improvement would be a gift shop that is not in the main lobby and a snack area.
Overall, if you have children from the ages of toddler to about 10, you're sure to be able to spend a good few hours here with your children highly...
Read moreThe facility is awesome, and the learning zones are really fun for kids. There’re rooms for nursing moms with a couch and changing table next to a play area dedicated to babies and toddlers. There’re some inconveniences that have surprised me. There isn’t tap to pay when purchasing tickets, so have your card on you to avoid hauling little ones and gear back and forth. The lockers aren’t big enough to store diaper bags, but there is an area to park strollers. There isn’t an indoor area to eat. There’re picnic tables outside. On a rainy day, I asked if my toddler could eat lunch in the party room because there wasn’t a birthday party going on. A woman came from the back who seemed annoyed and closed the door because she said she didn’t want to give people any ideas 🥴 There’s one small bench outside that’s covered from rain that was taken, so we sat on the ground. I saw a family eating in the trunk of their car in the parking lot as I was leaving. Those factors and the hours make it less practical for us with a child under 2. It seems ideal...
