I frequent The Queen weekly and absolutely, love the atmosphere there. I have visited several casinos and I feel that The Queen offers the best in gifts, variety of machines, restaurants, and live entertainment. The workers are friendly. I have seen other players win Grand jackpots at The Queen, than any other casino I have visited. I have lived in Baton Rouge for almost a year. I lived in New Orleans for two years where I visited Harrah’s and Boomtown. More Grand jackpots than Harrah’s and Boomtown combined. Within, 11 months, I have seen about six Grand jackpot winners. I have not been fortunate enough to be a Grand jackpot winner, but there’s always hope. In terms of winnings, being realistic, I have lost more than I have won, but I have left with money in my purse with The Queen than any other casino. Since here in Baton Rouge, I have visited The Belle and L’Auberge and have felt better when leaving The Queen than the other two casino’s. If you love playing the slots, I would highly recommend The Queen Casino of Baton Rouge.
UPDATED REVIEW: 2/4/2025 I visited The Queen on Feb 4th and was very disappointed. Aside from losing, I was there approximately 3/4 hours before being asked if I wanted a beverage. When I finally placed an order for Bally’s on the rocks, my face dropped when the waitress returned. The cup was half filled with ice and Bally’s barely covered the bottom of the cup. I looked at her and before saying anything, she said, we can only give one shot. I have ordered Bally’s several times, but never with what was considered one shot. I was totally disappointed. On top of losing my money, I couldn’t get a decent drink. Totally pissed!!!
UPDATED REVIEW: 2/14/2025 I visited again on Valentine’s Day and I was totally overjoyed winning a jackpot!!! YEAH!!! What an awesome Valentine’s Day gift! Since my last review, I have noticed there are more rounds being made with drinks offers and some have approached me personally asking if I want a beverage. I have not ordered any. My preferred drink is Bally’s on the rocks. But, overall; there is an improvement in rounds. Thanks!!!
Oh, I didn’t partake, but the Valentine’s Day decorations in 1717, was absolutely beautiful. It appeared to be a very special event for all of the lovers out there!
UPDATED REVIEW: 3/22/2025 I visited The Queen today for one of the worst visits I have had. I was there for approximately one hour. I played about four different machines. I lost money!! In the hundreds! Out of all the machines I played, I went into the bonus twice. Each time, I got approximately eleven or twelve dollars. Two times, maybe a total of $25.00 and lost hundreds. I was sick! Going to the casino is a bad cycle. Unless you win a Grand Jackpot, you are definitely in a hole. You may leave with money sometimes, but it’s only money you have previously lost. Needless to say, I continue to go. I love the atmosphere, being around people, the music, the drinks and getting a bite to eat. It can be a costly outing.
UPDATED REVIEW: 5/10/2025 Visited The Queen today to play my promo money that was on my card. I had no casino money today. To my surprise, to my being totally excited, to my being elated; super excited…..I won a jackpot! Wow! Did I need that! Needless to say, this visit was everything. I played, I won, I chatted with the person next to me and we had a wonderful conversation solving some of the issues with the way things should be once you retire. It could be a wonderful life, the way we think it should be. If only, someone would listen! Anyway, the casino was buzzing. I did notice a few others that were being paid. There was also live entertainment at 1717 Restaurant, Shaun Ward. People were pouring in. Music was popping and drinks were being served. The Queen was absolutely AWESOME. I LOOK FORWARD TO MORE DAYS LIKE...

Jul 19, 2025 9:00PM EVENT Vince Hutchinson and the Original Heavy Storm Band TICKET Reserved 2 Top / 2 Tickets WHERE The Queen Casino 1717 River Park Blvd - 1717 River Park Blvd - Baton Rouge, LA 70802
The cost of a reserved tabletop ticket is more than the general admission tickets and it guarantees seating at the venue.
We arrived shortly before 9pm. I was impressed with the huge improvement on the seating process no standing in a long line for over an hour at times for pre-paid reserved seating. We were seated immediately by a middle age female and told our waitress would we with us shortly. We waited over an hour, no waitress stopped at our table. I stopped several Queen staff members, before an older gentlemen with a clean shaven head informed me “This table does not have a waitress. You have to place your order at the bar.” He told me the person in charge was at the front entrance. My issue with this is the other approximately 5-6 tables in the immediately proximity was all getting table service from the waitress. I don’t know if it was because ALL OF THOSE PATRONS SEATING AT THE TABLES WERE FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF THE ARTIST. Nevertheless, the tickets did not specify no table service by wait staff.
I went to the front and asked for the person in charge. The same middle age female that seated us stated, “I can help you.” She walks back to the table with me, goes and speak with who appeared to be the waitress, comes back and states the waitress will be with you shortly. I wait another 30 minutes, no waitress. By this time it’s approximately 1020pm, we have been seated since 845pm. I go to the front and again ask for the person in charge. Ronnie introduces himself as the manager. I express my issue with paying for a service and not getting what I paid for. Ronnie initially states the tables “along the brickwall is always the bar.” I informed Ronnie that the ticket, I purchased did not stated no table service, nor did any of the reservation confirmations. Ronnie went on to blame Eventbrite and stated Eventbrite never get the ticket sales correct. When I informed Ronnie that I would be filing a complaint. He then offered “I can buy you lunch.” I informed Ronnie that, I did not want anything free, I only wanted what I paid for. I had been to many events at The Queen 1717 venue, sat in that same area and received waitress / waiter services. Ronnie then stated he would take my name and number and “reach out to Eventbrite for a refund on Monday (7/21/25).” I assume Ronnie thought I was naive enough to think Eventbrite determines refunds in this particular situation. I know this lies squarely with THE QUEEN CASINO.) Ronnie prepared our order two sodas and I carried them to our table. We decided to skip ordering anything significant on principle.
The Queen is inherently understaffed, I have noticed this at previous events, the staff that typically cleans the tables has acted in the servers capacity, down to the staff on many occasions stating “we are short staffed.”
Ronnie/ Manager assured me he would follow up on Monday, July 21, 2025 and of course I have not received any communication from Ronnie or The Queen Casino Baton Rouge staff.
The reason for this letter: I would like some form of a refund for the service I paid for and DID NOT RECEIVE. I am not asking for a full refund.
I have attached a copy of the Eventbrite ticket, a copy of a reservation confirmation, pictures of prior paid events along with me sitting in the exact same section and receiving waitress services. I was unable to attach my video my interactions ...

A month or so ago as I sat playing at a slot machine inside Lit (smoking area of the casino) a man playing Craps threw a full beer bottle and missed hitting me in the head by inches and hit the slot machine to the left of me. I was shocked that with a full room of casino employees did absolutely nothing at the time it occurred. “Lit” was full of players and also had employees such as a Pit boss, dealers, and other employees, that had to hear the loud crashing noise from the beer bottle hitting and shattering on the face of the slot machine. I was surprised that the glass face of the slot cabinet didn’t shatter. Other players on the Craps machine came up to me to say “I hope you know I didn’t throw that at you” and “I swear I didn’t throw it” I reported the incident to security a couple of days later (worried about my safety) nothing was done. I wrote corporate customer service for the Queen and only received a weak apology. It seems that once again there is a reduced staff is once again the case as far drink services. The servers only want to wait on the tables in the main casino. Only last night the hostess at the 1717 Restaurant messed up my 2 orders by leaving off an item. When I checked the order and brought it to her attention that it was missing the side order, her reply was “ well you weren’t charged for it” I replied “ but I ordered it because I wanted it” she said “I know and I forgot it and the kitchen is closed” Earlier at the Draft King bar, I ordered a dirty martini and the bartender said he didn’t know how to make one that the other bartender had to make it. ( The other bartender “CJ” is always fantastic and professional, thank goodness) The new Food and Beverage Mgr happened by, Mr. Lewis was very interested in my feedback concerning issues at Draft King Sports casino bar and 1717 food employees. He expressed his concerns and sincerely listened. He insured me he plans to work closely with the employees to train them. He told me he had over 10 years in Casino experience and almost another 10 years in the food and beverage industry. He left me with a feeling of hope for the future service at the Queen. *Thank you Mr. Lewis! As a Diamonds Card player, I want desperately for this Casino to be a premier facility, but it just seems to hit or miss constantly on service, security and food and beverage. I’ve slowed my play considerably because of issues. Im also requesting a new Casino Host, never hear from my current one. ——- 04/2024 An update to my original 1st review. (2 months later) I’m a Diamond player and I am horribly disappointed in the treatment I have received from this casino. 04/24 FOLLOW UP to this original review: A quick shout out to Jonathan, great employee, works different areas of the casino, nonstop! Thank you Jonathan for your ...
