Ok here we go… First I want to say I come from service industry so to have me feeling a type of way says a lot.

We get there for lunch and there’s maybe one or two other tables there. We were sat in the bar area because when asked where would we like to sit, our response was, “Wherever you would like to seat us. We’re easy.” We were sat in the bar. Cool! Closer to the bar! We had been sitting at the table for at least 10-15 min and still no menus. I’ve never been here and wanted to take my time reading the menu…I had to get up and grab our own menus from the side of the bar.

My husband ordered a raspberry margarita and I ordered a jalapeño margarita. It took an unusually long time to get them to the table considering it’s just 2 margaritas…there was nothing else going on because we saw and heard everything going on in the bar area. My husband got a regular margarita, not raspberry. My jalapeño margarita was actually really good.

My husband ordered seared tuna tacos. I ordered lunch portion steak fajitas. I gave 3 stars because the food had pretty good flavor. Husband’s Tacos had 2 pieces of tuna per taco and the first bite had a huge piece of tough membrane that he couldn’t bite through…or want to. He sat for a good while with an empty glass waiting for anyone to offer a refill or a second margarita. Keep the glasses full!! Upsell!! That’s the first commandment of service industry!

It took an unusually long time to get food with minimal tables sat. We sat at 1:03pm and got our food at 1:58pm…for lunch tacos and lunch fajitas…which even the lunch portion I thought was a bit skimpy for the fajitas but I don’t eat a lot anyway so whatever.

Experience-wise, there was what I assume to be an employee sitting at the bar. Everyone was being obnoxiously loud and clearly taking up more valuable time than selling us more margaritas or refilling our salsa. I want to emphasize that we were the only table in the bar area and there were no bar customers. I am speculating about this person being an employee but I can usually call it considering I’ve spent decades in service industry. Takes one to know one. She was also on the phone saying, “Hey when are you getting here? I go on at 4.”

Then, a guy walks into the bar. This is not a setup for a joke. He sits at the bar. He orders a frozen margarita to go. This was approximately 1:50pm. He is told by the bartender, and our server, “The machine wasn’t on. Someone must have turned it off.” Now you opened at what time? You are a Mexican restaurant. You serve margaritas. Someone couldn’t have made sure the machine was operating properly?? This other guy sitting at the bar, also an employee, says “I turned it off so I can hear the phone.” Guy is told it will take 5 minutes…which anyone from service industry knows those machines take a lot longer than 5 minutes to freeze the mix. Guy says he will go somewhere else if it’ll take 5 minutes. Bartender proceeded to say after the guy walked out that “It’s probably for the best because it would have taken longer than 5 minutes.”

C’mon man. You’ve got a table within ear shot of everything happening in the bar area. You never know who your audience is. Next time, focus on concentrated service because we would have tipped extra because it’s a holiday. You’re lucky to have gotten 20%. Honestly, after all this mess, we won’t be back. There was nothing extraordinary to have us want to come back. We are so easy to wait on. It takes a whole whole lot for me to post a review…I hope y’all can get some people who give a tiny care about their job since they have to be...

Last night Hubby and I stayed at the motel across the street. We decided to eat here. Hubby has extreme allergies to sunflower and seseme. Hayden was working. He brought out awesome fresh chips and salsa. I started eating them …and then Hubby asked Hayden about the oils etc. Hayden went back and actually took a picture of the labels and let him read them. Unfortunately, he couldn’t eat anything with the oil they used. So, then we had a Hayden check the buns. He was so kind and considerate. He didn’t seem to mind at all. Actually they didn’t have the package yet so we couldn’t tell. So then, we asked about the tortilla shells, the corn and flour shells! Poor Hayden….but again…he didn’t seem to mind! Again, he took pictures of the packages and let us look ourselves. We were so happy to see he could have the corn tortillas!! So then we could finally eat! Then he had to find out for sure about the shrimp and the crawfish to make sure they were not fried in the oil…and they were not! We ordered and the food was great! I had chimichanga and hubby had shrimp and crawfish enchiladas! And we can’t say enough good about Hayden!! He was the best!!! Thanks again Hayden!!!! And you have...

Great resturant but horrible employees.

First time used my corporate card when the fraud occurred. My card was used in four gas stations for cigarets worth over 500 dollars. I did not think it was stole the at This resturant as I use the card when I travel. Second time was my Bank of America card and I had to get it replaced and thought it was one of those random events. Yesterday I used a brand new card with a chip and one hour later the card was used to buy plane tickets.

I love the food but now am worried the place is full of fraudsters. I called the person who took my credit card to pay the bill but he was so rude and wind not let me speak to the owner.

A shame the owner never even got to hear the complaint or how his employees are taking his customers money.

Use cash or be ready to get ur credit card stolen. I am sorry for all those who use debit...

I was appreciative to find an open restaurant in downtown BR at 7PM on a weekday night, but if you choose to come get ready for a funky smell inside. I'd liken it to roasted peppers clashing with Louisiana swamp monsters, but I promise it isn't so bad you can't enjoy your food. The pours I saw for the margarita were VERY generous and the liquor shelf was impressive and bordering on excessive. On the other hand, their tiny wine/beer cooler was jammed full of light domestic beers with not a single local craft beer in sight. To the important part - the food! The shrimp and crawfish enchilada was far from picturesque but it was pretty darn good. I would caution you, however, to not order it unless you are feeling pretty hungry.

This WAS the chicken enchilada and chicken taco lunch. I devoured the taco before thinking to take a picture. It was very tasty! The enchilada was made to order with my choice of sauce and I chose sour cream sauce per my server's suggestion and enjoyed that as well. The entree comes with rice and beans. I got beans only as I'm not a fan of rice. The restaurant appeared to be super clean. Everyone I encountered was polite and professional. Food was well seasoned and fresh considering I went in at 2 in the afternoon. Chips and salsa were complimentary. With no regrets, I spent a little more on lunch than I care to - it was well worth it though and I look forward to trying other menu items in the future.
