I first saw this show in Disneyland...in fact it started there in 1992. The show in California takes part in front of Tom Sawyer's Island and I found it kind of hard to see with all of the crowds in front of me.
So when I saw that this same show at Hollywood Studios I was really happy to get a seat and enjoy it. But I must say that this show fills up fast. We found that out the hard way. Yes as we were walking into the show on our first day here, when we were informed by an announcement that said the show was full and would only allow standing room only. After a long day at Disney, we looked at each other and said, "Okay we are not going to stand for another 45 minutes before show time!" So we decided to pack it in and head to the hotel. On day 2 we made sure we went in 1:30 hours before show time. I was not going to be denied two days in a row!!!
We grabbed our seats and made friends with some of our neighbors and waited. I went to hit the beer line and it took forever. Almost 30 minutes to get beers and popcorn. Dear Disney...I bet you lost $50,000 in sales because of how slow this line moved...with all of the staff this line should have been flying by but it didn't. I finally got back to my family and the beers and popcorn made them forget I was gone for such a long time.
There were a few comedians that started warming up the crowd about 20 minutes before the show. They were cute and a little annoying all in the same breath...I am sure if I had more beer they would have been hilarious.
This show is a nice mix of giant laser beams, explosions, characters and video projection. The best part is you will get to see a ton of characters, which for any Disney Fan is a huge bonus no matter how old or young you are.
Disney also offers some ways to get preferred seating...if you book and eat lunch at The Brown Derby, then you can get a great seat at the show without getting there an hour early. So if you want to there is a way to work around the crowds and get a good seat. We did not do this because a 100 dollar lunch at Disney did not seem like a good option for me to...

Review:
Recently, I experienced the mesmerizing spectacle of Fantasmic! It was nothing short of a magical journey at Disney's Hollywood Studios. As the night unfolded, the fusion of dazzling water fountains, brilliant lasers, and vibrant projections transported me into a world where dreams and reality blur.
The heart of the show, Mickey's daring adventure against Disney's most iconic villains, was a breathtaking display of storytelling. Watching the night sky erupt with pyrotechnics while characters like Maleficent and Ursula challenged our hero added an electrifying edge to the experience. Including Disney favorites like Ariel and Simba, alongside Mickey, created a tapestry of tales that was both nostalgic and awe-inspiring.
Despite a light rain, the Hollywood Hills Amphitheater was packed, a testament to the show's allure. The synchronization of music, effects, and character appearances was impeccable, making every moment feel alive and dynamic. The climax, with its explosion of fireworks and a triumphant Mickey, left me and the audience around me in a state of wonder.
In conclusion, Fantasmic! is a must-see at Disney's Hollywood Studios. It blends technology, art, and storytelling perfectly, creating an unforgettable night. Whether a Disney aficionado or a first-time visitor, this show promises to leave you with memories that sparkle long after...
