Extremely disappointing experience – not what you’d expect at Disney

We had a very upsetting experience at the ice cream shop Hollywood Scoops inside Hollywood Studio in Disney. When we asked for a gluten-free ice cream due to a dietary restriction, the manager was incredibly rude and dismissive. Not only did we have to wait over 10–15 minutes for him to even show up, but when he finally arrived, he said there were no gluten-free cones available. Then he contradicted himself, saying that the ice cream “probably” didn’t contain gluten and we could just eat it anyway.

He showed no concern about allergies or cross-contamination, and honestly, if it weren’t for the cashier—who kindly stepped in and reminded him to take proper precautions—we might have been given something unsafe to eat. She even requested that someone else prepare the ice cream and label it gluten-free.

It’s shocking that this kind of disregard could happen at Disney, where guest safety and care are supposed to be top priorities. This experience was frustrating, unacceptable, and far below the standard you’d expect. I would absolutely not recommend this location to anyone with food sensitivities.

Posting under my husband’s profile. So it took myself and my teen child a second to process what we witnessed today at Hollywood scoops… this lady “Nelly” flat out ignored a couple of color after they paid for their order and did not serve them. my family of 4 witnessed the couple standing in the sun waiting for minimum of 20 minutes at least before they finally nicely mentioned the wait time and just asked for a refund. At which time “Nelly” said she couldn’t and walked across to next shop and returned with a supervisor whom without saying a word or even asking what the issue was, immediately refunded the couple… as they walked away, “Nelly” had no issue handing multiples orders to Caucasian customers before we could even blink.. this was the first “wtf” moment we witnessed our whole week stay at Disney … We were completely appalled by this staff members clear racist behavior! Did NOT expect this from Disney where people spend thousands of hard earned dollars to...

We were sick for weeks after eating that ice cream supposedly sugar free. It seems to have poisoned my liver. And after waiting a month for an answer the ingredients are much worse than I thought. Check out this disgrace:

Vanilla Fat Free No Sugar Added Ice Cream: skim milk, polydextrose, maltodextrin, sorbitol, cellulose gel, cellulose gum, guar gum, polysorbate 60, carrageenan, aspartame, stabilizer (sucrose, locust bean gum, citric acid, sodium bicarbonate), and artificial vanilla flavor.
