Duuuuuuuude🤘🤘. This place is truely one of the coolest locations I have EVER seen in my entire life, on or behind or from a computer screen, or in real life, up close and personal. I am originally from Staten Island and in 2001 my family moved off the Island and into New Jersey. Middlesex County NJ in the township of Helmetta to be exact. It was a nice quiet and rural town and was a total culture shock for me initially but I got used to it. When I finally made some friends, the one thing we would all bond over besides baseball (playing our own little league teams/leagues and then further into high school we would bond over our HS sport's teams) would be extteme sports, especially skate boarding and BMX. Now idk if this park allows bicycles which is either way, but in around 2002-2007 we would go to literally every single town hall meeting and fight for a skatepark to be built. Unfortunately they never built us one because they looked at us all like we were all hardened criminals because we liked extreme sports. I just have to say and thank the city of Bayomnee New Jersey for recognizing that the kids need a place they can go to do certain outlets and activities for their well being, and Bayonne you guys provided...

Fun little North/south skatepark, nothing too huge, with some fun roll in things for beginners. I would imagine this place gets pretty jammed up with more then 10 people. I also don’t doubt for second it can get crowded with LKW’s with the playground just across the way. Mini ramp is a huge bonus and better then any NYC skatepark Mini ramps. There is also a super interesting J shaped ramp that would be fun to learn how to use. The park design reminds me a lot of a street league course.
Can we please please please stop putting fences around skateparks?! Your either trying to keep me out or keep me in and it feels uncomfortable. Why would you need to “close” a skatepark next to the water and under a bridge???
Fence was locked the day we skated... 50 was in the parking lot (not a ton of spaces) and didn’t care we went through the hole in the fence.
The surrounding waterfront area is really pretty, you can bring the family. We didn’t eat locally.
Worth a trip from Brooklyn... close enough to the SI skatepark and Berry lane if you wanted to...
