One of the cleanest and the best parks in Beaumont that's also a museum and sports a U. S. Air Force jet. This park is good for watching sunsets providing there's not too many clouds. It also has four full-length soccer fields, and one soccer field with six goalie nets, for the kids that went to practice their shots on goal. In the Spring and Autumn seasons, this park is full of families and kids playing with the family pets and cooking out. This park also sits on the edge of Gulf Street and I-10 Service East Road. With the largest fire station in the City of Beaumont.... Fire station number 1! It is now the largest and the busiest fire station in all of the city. This fire station can handle any and all fire and rescue operations, it even has a fire boat with a trailer and a long ladder 🚛 truck. On the east side of the building next to the park, is a tall pole with the American flag flying high and proud. I personally use the park sidewalk pavement areas for getting a decent biking workout. But I only do it in the off-season or close in the evening before the park closes.

Wanted to stop here many times and visit the Memorial Museum & park to honor Babe Zaharias. No doubt one of the all time female greats in the sporting world. Excelling at the 1932 Olympics earning goal medals in several events. Later she became number one golfer with 10 LPGA titles to her credit. She was well known to me when I was a teenager Hoping to tour inside of Museum but arrived too soon before Museum opened. The adjoining park is named after her. An airplane is on static display, a picnic pavilion is on the grounds & sports playgrounds provided. Disappointed that the park grounds were not better landscaped & maintained. Nothing distinct to set off the life of Babe except the Memorial Museum.

Fun stop along I-10. My husband and I had been curious about the museum and Babe for some time and finally decided to stop. The lady at the desk was friendly and helpful. We had just as much fun interacting with her as we did touring the museum. The space is small and doesn’t take long to go through. We were there about a half hour. But it is packed with interesting tidbits about this remarkable athlete. Her Olympic medals were not present, but we still enjoyed...
