Such a disappointment that you can't visit now as a non resident without a membership. Family membership is almost $500 which is absoutely insane! I've been a ton as a kid myself, and went once with my own son before you needed a membership. We LOVED it, I wanted to go again the next summer and when I checked online the admission rules were all changed. I get that the water was bad because of crowding etc etc but the family pass is unafforadble. Or you can get a "limited" family pass for a little less but then it's only weekdays after 4pm and weekends. During the summer when the kids are home all day who wants to go after 4pm only?? Such a shame. They could have at LEAST made the full day family membership 200-300 for non members which I would find reasonable. Who is going to pay $500 bucks for a few short summer months at spring brook park, when you will probably go, what? 10 times TOPS? So irritating. Maybe if you are a family of 5 or 6 I could see that price point but we have 1 kid. We're a family of 3, they should price it based on how many "members" you're signing up... Since over crowding seems to be their main point as to why they...
Read moreClean, big, but not too big! We arrive at 10:30, when the parking lot isn't at full capacity yet. We pack a picnic lunch, but you can buy lunch there. There's beach around the whole man-made pool. Most of the pool is 2 feet, perfect for 1-2 year olds. There's a slide but you must be either 9 years old or have a life jacket (that must be "coast guard approved). The slide can be intimidating for some kids. Besides the pool there is an awesome water park where many of the young children hang out at. Next to that is a park with swings.
This place is the kind of place where if you say you went there your friend most likely will say "LOVE that place!!"
It's especially great if you get a group of 20 or more to go to...
Read moreBeautiful park and nice water- the fact that it's pretty much freshwater and not overtly pool-ish is lovely. Great for residents. I haven't used the picnic area and grills yet. There's also a simple mini golf course, and a concession stand with chips, drinks, and ice cream available.
The one critique is that there are a lot of caveats to using the deep end of the pond. There are signs up perpetually saying that the deep end is closed because they're using it for swim lessons, but the signs simply refer you to the hours posted at the bath house. I would love if Springs Brook Park had some sort of either consistent hours for deep end use, or a daily twitter posting of hours so I can better plan my day and hours...
