My daughter Ciara is attending college on the West Coast. I own a hair salon in New York. I found Amy at Argyle salon in Bellingham Washington through a search. All I had to go on was a few pictures off of her Instagram, I messaged her and told her my concerns, I attempted to lift vivid pulp riot purple out of my daughter‘s hair when she was home for Christmas. I was left with a pale teal green after two sessions of lightning .She assured me that she would take great care of my girl. The outcome was even greater than I could’ve hoped for. She told me the products she uses at her shop and assured me that she would uphold the integrity of my daughter’s hair as I was afraid of Damage from lifting the color out of her hair, only two months ago. As a salon owner, I was very worried. Needless to say, my daughter is 18 and not the easiest person to deal with as far as making her happy with her hair ! Not only was Amy super sweet to my daughter, Ciara walked out of the salon with a huge smile on her face and her hair looks gorgeous! She has dark brown hair that had been colored with Vivids For a year and a half. Not only was she able to achieve lifting the remainder of a horrible teal color left in her hair she transformed her into a blonde beauty! As a stylist myself, I was shocked to see the results. In my opinion, this was a complete color correction and her prices are extremely fair for such excellent work ! Amy is a stellar hairstylist in my opinion.! My daughter won’t be going anywhere else for the remainder of her time spent away at school! I highly recommend visiting Amy at Argyle Salon if you are in the Bellingham area! She is our new go to West Coast girl! Thank you so...
Read moreI've been coming here for a few years now and I always get great haircuts. The staff is usually really nice and personable. I have no complaints about my haircuts. I've gotten ombré colors every time I've come in. The first time was a correction on a really bad one I had gotten at a mall salon. It looked really good in the end. The second time, the girl (same one as before) made my hair so orange. My roots, which were a natural light brown before, were now orange and my ends were very brassy and gold. I called and she agreed to redo it at no charge. Afterwards, it still looked the same. The third time I came in, I booked a different girl. She was new, but still did a great job. The brassy color was gone, but I still had some of the brassy streaks in it. I still wished to have my ends blonder, but I waited sometime to come in for my next color. The next time I came in, I wanted my ends blonder. It ended up looking exactly the same. My sons hair has been cut there too and the first time, it was super cute. Same with the second time, but I kept finding really uneven parts. After his hair grew out, it looked like a bowl cut! It did not grow out well at all and you could definitely see all of the uneven spots. Eventually I just took him to great clips and even they couldn't understand what was done to his hair. I just had a negative experience there, but I won't go into details. after coming to them for several years, I was not made to feel welcome at all and was treated poorly. I'm giving them 2 stars because their work is inconsistent and at times not worth the money. If a salon makes you cry when you leave, then that's not a salon that I want to...
Read moreSince I am sheltering in place and can't support my favorite local business at the present moment, I decided to carve out some time today to leave reviews. I've had the pleasure of getting my hair styled by Clara at the Argyle Salon for over a decade, since back when she had her salon on King Street. The salon in the Herald Building is so dreamy, the high ceilings and big windows combined with the historic location create a beautiful space for creativity to flow. Clara is a remarkably polite, kind, and loving person. Just the kind of person that your spirit feels lifted simply by being around. Aside form how sweet of a person she is, she is a killer hair stylist. She listens to what I want and runs with it, often creating a better look than I was even imagining. She is extremely artistic and her years of experience show in the quality of her cuts and colors. If you can't get an appointment with Clara, I wouldn't hesitate to suggest trying out any of the stylists at her salon, knowing that she cares about the quality of work for every client that steps into Argyle. I've been traveling for my job for the past several years, but whenever I get the opportunity to drop in for a hair appointment on my trips home, I am always so grateful. Thank you Clara and thanks to everyone at Argyle for creating such a...
