Just Poke Bellingham — Restaurant in Bellingham

I really do like this place, and it's closer to my work than Aloha Poke (which I also love). It's delicious, though spendy, and I love everything they have. If I can, I try to recommend Just Poke to anyone that I know who likes this kind of food. I had one problem today which was that there were no employees up front to help. I waited around and read some fliers thinking maybe someone would come back from grabbing whatever they were grabbing. I could hear employees laughing and talking in the back; unfortunately I'm not one to shout so that's on me. But a girl in the lobby who happened to work there and wasn't on shift came up to help me. She was kind of short/blunt with me. Understandably so--she shouldn't have had to help me when she was there as a customer with friends. I believe her coworker referred to her as Emma when he came up front and found her helping me, before retreating to the back again. Maybe there could be a bell to let employees know that someone is waiting up front when everyone is in the back? Usually there isn't anyone up front when I normally come in so I figured they had a camera and screen to watch the front. Basically, called before hand to ask a few questions about the poke being that I grew up around sashimi and poke grade fish in HAWAII... at times catching my own sushi grade fish. I was told during this call that the poke was really good and I wouldn’t be disappointed. First off, customer service was wack! I get it there’s a line but to make your customer feel rushed within a 1-2 minute period is absolutely unacceptable. I was having a bad day hopping to get poke and ended up getting a chewy, fishy smelling, stomaching aching excuse for poke. If it wasn’t for the lack of care to cause the trouble of getting a refund I would. This is the first food review I’ve given. They also forgot to give me a fork then gave me a dirty one that I asked to have replaced. Will never be coming here again totally let down and do not recommend to ISLANDERS looking for a nice authentic poke bowl. All in all, 0/5 cheap fish and low...

So far I've been 0/2 on my experience here on my last two visits. I hate to be that guy, but it's good to know before I order my proteins if you are out of a significant portions.

I ended up only getting rice, proteins and crab salad because you were out of a lot of your other toppings.

Two things I wish would have came out of the outcome.

The employee letting me know BEFORE I order. Give some sort of discount.

It doesn't seem fair to the consumer (me) that I am paying full price for a bowl that doesn't have as many toppings as it should have when full service/toppings are available.

Again, the food is amazing -- just some small caveats that I'd love to see get worked out.
