Deirdre offers an individualized approach to haircuts that has kept me coming to see her for years!

During the consult she takes time to discuss my style goals, lifestyle, how much time and effort I wish to put into styling, how often I can come into the salon-- as well as my hair's texture, natural behavior, and even environmental factors like the dry, hard-water climate where I live.

I feel heard, understood, and she consistently exceeds my expectations with a style that will look great the entire time between visits. "Lived-in" styles are her specialty, with plenty of face-framing bits-and-bobs, and thoughtful details that get better over time.

Beyond her excellent communication and cutting skills, Deirdre is mindful and present, working with only one client at a time in her wonderfully-appointed chill space.

Deirdre has been cutting my hair for years. She is incredibly skilled and talented. She only uses the best no tox products around, which you can also purchase from her, and I do. Her space is artfully and thoughtfully curated and the space itself is a dream (it’s in a historic building). Pair the views with her inviting and adorable personality and you have the best hair experience you’ll ever have in your life. I’m a snob about my cuts and what not, and never once have I been disappointed or even found a hair out of place. She is the best person I’ve gone to in WA (and also PA where I used to live). Deirdre knows how to approach us neurospicy folks as well by asking thoughtful questions before cutting, ensuring we know the parking situation with photographic details, asking permission before touching, etc. AND, she always has the best music playing. Did I mention that it’s a solo experience when you go to Moondog?! Well, now I did. Which makes your time there even more relaxing. When I arrived Deirdre welcomed me warmly. The place smelled amazing and the music was perfect (through the whole treatment). We talked about any concerns I had (none) but she explained things to me that I’d never understood, like why I should use conditioner :) Then she used a trichoscope and we got to look up close at my scalp. It was so cool!

The experience in the chair was more relaxing than a full body massage. I felt like I was floating. Each new step to the process was a new sensation and each wonderful. As a new mom with very little time for, well, anything, I felt truly pampered during the visit.

After the treatment portion was done, we looked at my scalp again. It was rosy and clean. She described the products she was using as she finished my hair with a blow dry.
